Additional info and leaks have basically confirmed that "Last Train Home" is the single; it's the first of the two songs in my last post. Also sounds like (from the John Mayer subreddit) Maren Morris has a small, probably uncredited, feature in the outro.

I love the clips. Very 80s. Reminds me of "Africa" a little and the guitar solo reminds me of Lindsey Buckingham.

My favorite single by him in over a decade (the last time I liked a single by him this much was "Half Of My Heart"). I do wish the chorus hit a little harder though.

It's bizarre to think about guitar sounding out of place on a John Mayer song but his riffing just doesn't fit in at all here. And the synths are just way too "Africa" for me. Not feeling this one. Disappointing because I liked all of the songs he put out in 18/19

His voice is still the selling point, the song itself is kind of intro to a new album, but the full band sound promises to look forward to the "real" second single.

I'm just now realizing that this is the song that YouTubers and musicians Mary Spender and Adam Neely created their own respective versions of months prior to its formal release, based on the fragments John Mayer leaked to TikTok. Check them out if you're curious; I've linked the timestamps to the songs themselves in both of these videos, but the creative processes preceding them are worth watching too.

I don't think any alt stations added this, and if his other entries didn't chart, (back when Dave Matthews Band and Jack Johnson could) this won't.
This has a higher chance at HAC where he has charted many times, but it has gotten only a few adds thus far.
