The video makes me like the song even more. These girls have superstar written all over them; I hope they start seeing consistent success.

What a fun video! This song is such a bop, too. Loving this.

Love this video! I particularly love Maddie’s bangs; that’s a nice new hairdo imo if that wasn’t just for the video. I also LOVE Tae’s yellow Legally Blonde-esque outfit; I thought she looked gorgeous with that.
Couldn’t help but cackle when we got a POV of them doing yoga, lmao.

I have to think it’s a really bad sign this hasn’t charted yet. I know the charts move slow but this isn’t even in the New & Active when it’s a lead single following one of the biggest hits of 2020. Even Caroline Jones’ catastrophe of a song is in New & Active right now.

Even Caroline Jones’ catastrophe of a song is in New & Active right now. I feel the same way. Obviously the charts move at a snails pace, which is a problem in its own respect, but this certainly isn’t off to a good start.

Yeah things are really looking bad for this song since it's been 3 months since this went for adds and it not even charting is such a bad sign as usually a song should feasibly chart within two months of going for adds at the latest.
It was a really bad sign for me when Tenille Arts was able to easily chart and even get in the Top 50 and she had a lot lesser of a hit than Maddie & Tae and a hit that peaked a lot more recently. Not to mention artists with not much sales and interest charting in say Drew Parker, Dillon Carmichael, and Nate Barnes.
I do think this will probably chart at some point, but it's pretty clear country radio is not that interested in this song, especially when they can just play "Die From A Broken Heart" anyway.

Is it too late for "I Don't Need to Know"?

I don’t really feel like it was a strong lead single. I also feel like it won’t end up charting. With that said I hope they move on to something stronger ASAP.

I by no means expected this to move up quickly, or even actually become a hit (although it should), but I was concerned about it not charting 2 months ago and the fact it hasn’t even made a notch into the bottom of the chart (and only spent a week or two in New & Active) is absolutely absurd. This should at least be bouncing around in the 50s at this point. As a follow up to a massive hit, this being a fun uptempo track, and M&T being a more recognizable name than much of the bottom of the chart, there’s no reason this should be struggling this badly. I don’t know what’s being done promo wise for this, but something more has gotta happen so this can pick up the pace.
Any chart gurus know how long after the adds date it took for “Friends Don’t” or DFABH to chart? That would be an interesting comparison.
I’d almost think the best course of action would be to scrap this and push something else but if what they’ve got up their sleeve is as bad as “Mood Ring” then continuing with pushing this is the better decision.

I know that for "Die From A Broken Heart" it took a couple of months before charting after it went for adds, and then "Friends Don't" took about a month after adds from what I remember.

Without having hard facts in front of me, I think that this is their worst single launch.

Still think that Bathroom Floor would have been a better option over this. Idk why some artists are so quick to move onto new music when the material they are leaving behind on their previous albums are significantly better. This reminds me when Carly Pearce opted in not releasing “If My Name Was Whiskey” in favor of “Closer To You.”

I agree. I think “Bathroom Floor” would have been top 40 by this point.

Bathroom Floor is two years old and would most likely take at least a year to peak, and I’m sure they didn’t want to wait that long to move on to a new era.

I heard this on my local iHeart station this afternoon! Such a pleasant surprise! I really hope this can make some noise at radio, it sounds really good. Hopefully this is a moderately optimistic sign.

Just taking a peak at the billboard chart this week....
Chris Bandi #60 -9 weeks on chart Dillon Carmichael #58 -10 weeks Drew Parker #55 -8 weeks Nate Barnes #54 -8 weeks
At the VERY LEAST this song should be in front of all of these considering when it went for adds Who are these people and why are they doing better?
I’ve been watching the video here and there and this song is really growing on me! I still like Bathroom Floor better but this song should absolutely be somewhere on the chart and have a chance to be a hit, it sounds like a hit to me🤷♂️

I know DFABH was a huge hit and big recurrent airplay and all that good stuff but it went #1 months ago. There is no way in hell this song should be struggling to even start, especially if it's a lead single to a brand new album. Country radio is such a head-scratching format.

Yeah this Song should be performing way better then it currently is, I honestly thought that this Song would have no problem getting significantly played on Country Radio especially with how big of a hit "Die From a Broken Heart" was, But knowing how sexist the Format can be I can't say I'm completely surprised to see how much it is struggling to even debut in the Top 60.

I've never been able to figure out why country radio can't be like pop radio and be based on sales.

^ I don’t know about y’all, but this era of Maddie & Tae has been just ‘there’ for me.
That song - and everything they’ve released for this third project - has been fine, but nothing is memorable or something i seek back out to listen to like i did the whole first album or with DFABH, Bathroom Floor or I Don’t Need to Know from their second project.
This trend chasing, basic lyric Maddie & Tae is just not doing anything for me, and I’m sad about it. 👎🏻

Yeah, as someone who loved their debut album and liked a decent chunk of their last album. None of the new stuff that has come out sounds all that great for me, "Woman You Got" is probably my favorite of the three but even then I am not that enamored with it and the rest of what they released for this new project just sound so generic in mainstream country. I love Maddie & Tae but it really feels like their music has for me at least has lost the spark and charm their debut album and parts of the second album had.

Well this is better than "Mood Ring" at least. Still not as good as 2/3 of their first two albums. Definitely worried about this next era for them if this is the best they've got.

A bit sad because I think they have so much potential.

Yeah, this was underwhelming to me too. It’s inoffensive and catchy enough, but “Woman You Got” remains the best from this era, and I’m worried about the era if this is all they’ve got. I need more like WYG and the past two albums—while not having to restrict their sound.
I’ll still take this any day and twice on Sunday over 99.9% of what the men serve tho lol.
