"If Tomorrow Never Comes" would have been an easy top 10 contender, if not top 5, with just about any other male vocalist singing it This song is so iconic! And not in an annoying way like "Friends In Low Places" could be perceived.

"If Tomorrow Never Comes" was released by Garth Brooks in August 1989 as the second single from his self-titled album. This was his first number-one single on the US Billboard Country Singles chart and was named Favorite Country Song at the American Music Awards of 1991. While this started off just outside of the top 30, a near top 10 from yours truly would bump this one up into the top 20 where it would remain for the rest of the rankdown. It would then become a top 10 contender in the middle of its run as it picked up two top 5s from ClevelandRox and someguy. It began to settle back some as its first ranking outside of the top half came along from Cody Wants Out... which in turn brought this outside of the top 15. A top 10 from bboat11 brought this one back into it though only to have taylor come along at the last minute with a lone bottom 10 ranking. That unfortunately kicked this one back out of the top 15.

Stats for #17:
Once this next song found its way into the top 30 it would remain there and even came within one spot of reaching the top 10. Unfortunately a lone bottom 10 would come along which bumped this one back. A pair of top 5s are lost (including someones #2) as well as a top 10.

"Walk On" was released by Reba McEntire in March 1990 as the fourth and final single from her album Sweet Sixteen and reached #2 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart in June 1990. Despite starting off just outside of the top 30, this would quickly find its way into the top 25 thanks to a top 3 ranking from someguy and it would remain there for the duration of its run. That would be followed up by a top 10 from 🌺CountryLineDancer as well as top 2 ranking from .indulgecountry which allowed this to get one spot shy of the top 10. Unfortunately all of that was undone by a bottom 10 from gardyfan which brought this to the back of the top 20. Luckily a top 12 from bboat11 gave this enough room so that it wouldn't find itself outside of the top 20 altogether.

Oh wow, I'm a little surprised to see Reba not even really be a top 15 contender outside of a couple moments! "Walk On" is catchy, although it isn't one of my all-time favorites from her, hence it missing my top 10. Like I said earlier, the biggest problem with this phase of Reba's career is how dated it sounds now. "Walk On" may as well be an '80s song, alongside "Little Girl". "You Lie" is where '90s Reba truly begins.
"Walk On" has a tendency to blend in with a couple of her other late '80s uptempos to me, like "Little Rock" and "Love Will Find Its Way To You".

Stats for #16:
Leaving just a spot shy of the top 15, this next song only left the top 20 once and even was an early top 5 contender. Three participants lose a top 10 which includes someones #2 song. Also, all but three participants put this in their top half with it picking up a lone bottom 10 (that seems be a running theme with each one of these last few songs lol).

I admittedly find "Hard Rock Bottom Of Your Heart" to be one of the less memorable songs out of everything that is left, so I'm not at all disappointed to see it out now! Just surprised, lol.

"Hard Rock Bottom of Your Heart" was released by Randy Travis in January 1990 as the second single from the album No Holdin' Back. In March 1990, the song spent four weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard magazine Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart and in doing so, it became the first song to stay as long atop the chart in 12 years; the last to accomplish the feat was the 1978 song, "Mamas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up to Be Cowboys" by Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson. That record would only stand for a couple of months though as George Strait's "Love Without End, Amen" would spend five weeks atop the chart in May of 1990. This was a very solid top 15 contender for much of its run and only once did it dip outside of the top 20. It quickly found its way into the top 5 early on as it picked up a top 15 from yours truly as well as a top 10 from Kanenrá:ke. That wouldn't last too long though as ClevelandRox swiftly followed us up with a lone bottom 10 ranking. While it did find itself on the outside looking in at the top 20, it quickly rebounded back into the top 15 as a top 2 ranking from kw9461 came in as well as another top 10 from castleoblivion26. With much of the group placing this in their top 30, this even managed to find itself just a couple of spots shy of the top 10 before picking up another two rankings outside of the top half. That would unfortunately send this one outside of the top 15 and would miss that mark by a mere seven points.

"If Tomorrow Never Comes" would have been an easy top 10 contender, if not top 5, with just about any other male vocalist singing it This song is so iconic! That reminds me, I forgot to mention that not only did this make the 1989 year-end chart (it was released in August of '89 after all), but it also made the 1990 year-end chart! It truly is an iconic song that should've been in the top 15.

Stats for #15:
Leaving first in the top 15 is a song that only found its way down there at the last moment. Before that, this was a solid top 5 contender for much of its middle run. And not only does this lose a top 3 ranking, but a top 2 will exit along with someones #1!

"Help Me Hold On" was released by Travis Tritt in February 1990 as the second single from his debut album Country Club. It reached number 1 on the Billboard Hot Country & Singles Chart becoming Travis Tritt's first number-one hit. Our first participant CoJoFan would kick this off with a start inside the top 3 where it would later retain that some position in the middle of its run. It only briefly dipped out of the top 10 before regaining its top 5 status as it would pick up a string of support from within the top 20 which included a top 10 from castleoblivion26. That would be followed up by a #1 ranking from Cody Wants Out.... It would only be towards the last quarter where this would pick up its three lowest rankings from within the bottom 20 beginning with ccarter1023 followed by LBTrocks and finally taylor. Those whammies were unfortunately enough to send this to the back of the top 15.

The two songs to miss the top 12 are both TIED! While one has two top 10s, the other has two top 5s (including a #2) giving it the edge.
