Is this who I think it is? I hope not. Well, at the very least you correctly predicted this as a bottom 10 contender!

Stats for #101:
Aside from its initial bottom 3 ranking, our first song to exit remained in last place for the entire duration of its run. It garnered ten bottom 10 rankings with the others coming from within either the bottom 20 or 30. This in turn makes it our least polarizing song.

Phew! That was a close one! I was thinking that the #1 hit from the Country Music Hall of Fame inductee was leaving first and I was milliseconds away from pressing the PANIC! button.
"Til I Can't Take It Anymore" was pretty darn strange imo, even after multiple listens.

"Till I Can't Take It Anymore" was first recorded by Ben E King in 1968 and would later be covered by Dottie West and Don Gibson whose version charted at #46 on the Hot Country Songs in 1970. The highest-charting rendition of the song came from Billy Joe Royal who released this in September 1989. His version of the song peaked at number two on the country charts in early 1990, making for his second single to reach that position.
And with that we say goodbye to our least polarizing song of the rankdown right out of the gate! This started out at its highest point which was actually only in the bottom 3 and immediately got sent to the end of the line as yours truly came in with a perfect ranking for last place. While no one else put this in last place, it did gather up nine additional bottom 10 rankings. All of the rankings in fact came from within the bottom 30!
This was one of only a few songs that I have no recollection of. I admittedly came close to cutting this song because of that (it also sounds incredibly dated), but in the end I opted to keep it if only because it was a top two hit.

While "Crazy in Love" was first recorded by Joe Cocker in 1984, it was American pop artist Kim Carnes in 1988 who turned this into a hit as her version peaked at number 13 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart and number 68 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart. Country Music Hall of Fame inductee Conway Twitty then recorded this for his 1990 album of the same name released it as its first single. Twitty's version reached number two on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart in November 1990 and number one on the Cashbox country charts, making it the last song of Twitty's to hit number one on a national chart. 4. Which songs will be in the bottom 10? I hate to say it, but Conway Twitty deserves to leave here as well. "Crazy In Love" was not good. And yet you still managed to be on one of the highest ranking participants for it lol! That isn't saying much though as 13 of the 15 participants put this either in their bottom 10 or 20. Unfortunately for CoJoFan , he becomes our first participant to lose a top 15.

"That Just About Does It" was released by Vern Gosdin in September 1989 as the second single from the album Alone. The song reached #4 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart. Despite starting out on somewhat of a high note, this remained a consistent bottom 5 contender for much of its run as it picked up six bottom 10 rankings and three in the bottom 20. Unfortunately gardyfan becomes our first participant to lose a top 10 :'( Vern Gosdin is an artist whose name always garners a lot of respect from within the country music industry and it surprises me then that he still isn't in the Country Music Hall of Fame (he is in the Nashville's Songwriters Hall of Fame though). That said, other than a few songs I've never really listened to his discography much and I can't say this song did much for me as I just found myself a bit bored with it overall.

"I Could Be Persuaded" was released by country music duo The Bellamy Brothers in June 1990 as the first single from the album Reality Check. The song reached number 7 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart and was the duo's last Top 10 hit. Thanks yet again to our first participant CoJoFan, this started off at its highest ranking position in the top 45 but quickly fell back to the bottom 10 as additional lists followed. It did look like it was going to land somewhere outside of the bottom 5, but as the rankdown came to a close it slowly continued its decent downward. The Bellamy Brothers have never necessarily been a favorite on Pulse and therefore I'm not too surprised that this is out so soon.

"It's You Again" was released by Skip Ewing in October 1989 as the first single from the album The Will to Love. The song reached number 5 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart. The B-side, "Ain't That The Way It Always Ends", was later covered by Tim McGraw on his 1997 album Everywhere. This more or less bounced around in the bottom 5 for much of its run as it was weighted down by five bottom 10 rankings including a bottom 3 from myself. This is another one of the few songs that I have no recollection of hearing on the radio, so it therefore never really rose much higher on my list than where it landed. It did manage to pick up a pair of top 40 rankings from someguy and bboat11, but again there just wasn't enough support overall for this to get it any higher. While you all may not necessarily be familiar with his name, you would certainly recognize many of the songs he's written or co-written over the years including Reba's "Every Other Weekend", "The Hole" and "If I Didn't Have You" by Randy Travis, Diamond Rio's "I Believe", Collin Raye's "Love Me", "Wish You Were Here" from Mark Wills, and Kenny Chesney's "You Had Me From Hello". Anyways, that's not even a full list of his songwriting credits! I don't believe he's been inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame yet, but you can be sure that he will be sooner rather than later.

"Just as Long as I Have You" was originally released by Dave Loggins and Gus Hardin in 1985 whose version peaked at number 72 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart. The song was later covered by Don Williams who released this in January 1990 as the third single from his album One Good Well. His version reached number 4 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart. Yet again thanks to our first participant CoJoFan, we see a song start off strong only to fall back into the bottom 10. In this case, it initially began its run in the top half but quickly fell back into the bottom 5 where it would remain for the rest of its run. That is until a fellow Don Williams fan himself LBTrocks gave this somewhat of a lifeline with his top 20 ranking (his first) which allowed this to escape the bottom 5. I'm admittedly probably one of the bigger fans of "The Gentle Giant" here on Pulse and looking back I likely underranked this one quite a bit (of which I'm sure to expect some shade from LBTrocks). This year just happened to be so stacked though that I often found it hard to rank songs such as this one no matter how much I like them. Anyways, five participants lose a bottom 10 including a pair of bottom 3s from kw9461 and ccarter1023. As I mentioned above, Don may be down but he isn't quite out yet as he still has his top two hit "Back in My Younger Days" remaining. How much longer will our Gentle Giant be able to hang on for?!

"Start All Over Again" was released by The Desert Rose Band in November 1989 as the first single from the album Pages of Life. The song reached number 6 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart. The group did chart two additional songs this year including the top 15 hit "In Another Lifetime" and "Story of Love" which was the groups final Top 10 hit. As I mentioned above, this is our first group to lose a song in the rankdown and comes in as our 15th least polarizing song. Other than for its initial ranking, this more or less remained a bottom 5 contender for most of its run. That was until LBTrocks came in towards the end with a top 20 ranking (his second loss in a row!) which gave this a bit more breathing room from the other songs that ended up landing in the bottom 5. Both myself and ClevelandRox are the only two to place this in their bottom 10 while eight others lose a bottom 20. I like this song well enough, but again in the end this year was just too stacked for something like this to move up any further on my list.

Stats for #94:
The next song was initially a top 45 contender only to fall all the way back into the bottom 10. Like most of the songs that have exited thus far, this garnered too many rankings in the bottom 10 or 20 that prevented it from making it any further. That's even despite this picking up a bit more support than some of the previous songs including four rankings in the top 50.
