"Drunk (And I Don't Wanna Go Home)" appears on Mainstream Radio Promo Only for May 2021. Meaning that will impact US Pop Radio. It's already a Top 30 hit at US Hot AC Radio.

Shame that country radio doesn’t look like they want to push this, despite sounding more country than a good chunk of what’s charting over there right now.
At least Pop and Hot AC know what’s up. Let’s give Elle King a well-deserved second hit!

Last time Elle King charted on US Pop Radio was her hit debut single "Ex's & Oh's" where it peaked at #7 on November 2015. Miranda Lambert has never charted on US Pop Radio before. America's Sweetheart also charted. It peaked at #44 in April 2016. It was Elle's second and most recent appearance.

Still can’t believe her father is Rob Schneider from all those crappy Adam Sandler movies lol
But hoping she can get another hit!

I’m thrilled! This is one of the best songs of the year (so far). And I hope it avenges Pop radio for letting America’s Sweetheart flop like that.
Either way, I’m a little surprised that they haven’t worked it to AAA, Alternative, and Country. It has a gigantic appeal that could easily fit every one of these formats not just Pop and HAC.

America's Sweetheart also charted. It peaked at #44 in April 2016. It was Elle's second and most recent appearance. “America’s Sweetheart” never charted on US Pop Radio only “Ex’s and Oh’s” did. It technically did not chart on Billboard but it DID chart on Mediabase, peaking at #44. There are receipts of that.

It technically did not chart on Billboard but it DID chart on Mediabase, peaking at #44. There are receipts of that. "America's Sweetheart" flopped in the Top 50 so it doesn't really count IMO. Flopping doesn't mean it didn't happen. The song charted fair and square. It's there. There's a thread for it on this site with people discussing its chart history. This website keeps an extensive history of the chart and the song appears there as well. It is perfectly acceptable and accurate to say the song never charted on Billboard's chart because, well, it never did. Billboard's pop airplay chart is only a top 40, not to mention it uses a slightly different panel and different recurrent rules. But on Mediabase, the one most often discussed on this site and the one with vastly more information available online, the song peaked at #44. You can pretend it doesn't count all you want, but that doesn't change history. It charted. For 6 weeks even. It was given a real, tangible release and push to pop radio. It exists. No one is saying it did well, just that it is a charting single that exists. I'm not sure why you want to argue that and even straight up tell people they're wrong for saying it charted when... it did. You could claim Elle King has never had a pop hit since Ex's & Oh's. That would be true no matter how you slice it. But to say it's her only charting song is factually incorrect without putting an asterisk next to that statement to say you're referring to Billboard's chart only. Anyway, to build on this discussion, I believe this would mark only the third time an Elle King song has received a pop push. (Which is a shame because I'm positive the singles from her last album could have make some waves here given a proper push, but I digress.) This also marks the first time anything involving Miranda Lambert has received a pop push. (Again, a shame as The House That Built Me absolutely should have received a push here.)

Sometimes Pop radio just goes wild in its selections and I simply love it. Hope this catches on!

Glad to hear this, but is there a reason why the label won't send this to Country radio?

Glad to hear this, but is there a reason why the label won't send this to Country radio? I don't believe Elle King is on a country label so they'd have to link up with one or find an independent radio promo team out of Nashville to promote it to that format. They also might have held off on it because Miranda Lambert has her own charting hit at radio right now. I think they should work things out to properly push it to country radio following the ACMs performance though, and I wouldn't be surprised if that happens given that they're opening the whole show with it, which is going to be hype.

Can't imagine this won't smash at country radio next week. It's my early leader for Summer Song 21 - although it might break too early.

They could give it an adds date for country radio, but it won't get played/turn into a hit without a country label or Nashville-based radio team promoting it.

I don’t think another major label would push her or Elle.

Couldn’t they have Miranda’s label promote this to Country radio? From my understanding, she’s under RCA Nashville so technically they both share the “RCA” label umbrella.
