Rapstar? Lol what's next? Trapstar Probably the name of Lil Moseyβs next single, as he used the term in Blueberry Faygo.

Idk if that song will have any legs, but if it does, that should be enough to debut #1 without any and radio and mediocre sales right?
I'm just waiting for Scooter Braun to activate the NPR acoustic version of peaches to go back to #1. I think he will do it next week because Bieber is gonna perform peaches at that Jake paul Ben askren Fight in Atlanta Georgia, which will be a huge event

Rappers always have the biggest streaming numbers, and that song was hyped up on TikTok. The numbers are believable. If it were Dua Lipa or someone such as that who has never exhibited any strength on streaming, then I can see people questioning it

Battle of long country albums. Maybe multiple weeks on top of Billboard 200 for Taylor until the Olivia/TΓP release, or until a surprise release by (yes, you guess it right) Rihanna or Adele.

The buzz surrounding this song is starting to wear out. Montero will be #3 or #4 in Week 3. LTDO and Peaches will certainly chart higher, and possibly even Rapstar. I doubt that Leave the Door Open is above it. The streams are way too weak, and the airplay is really slowing. Peaches has the opportunity to be above it this week, but I need to see the airplay for both. It is possibly going to be 1. Rapstar 2. Montero/Peaches 3. Peaches/Montero There is a very good chance that LTDO beats out Montero on the 4/17 chart, with the physical sales and CDs. LTDO won't have that for the 4/24 chart, but Montero is falling at a faster rate than Peaches and LTDO. Peaches could beat out LTDO for the 4/24 chart, but Montero will definitely be below them in Week 3. Rapstar is the real wild card here, and whether it can challenge Peaches/LTDO remains to be seen.

Despite being weak in points, does anyone else think that songs like Montero, Peaches, LTDO, and Up are strong hits?

Apart from the main reason: snippets on TikTok going viral.
Polo G's last album 'The GOAT' debuted with 129.4M streams. Which is quite good. But that isn't the most impressive part.
The album had 1,001,000 SPS in 2020, and in 2021 it is sitting at 264,000. That is insane longevity. Album was released May 2020.

I know this won't make a dent on the charts but hopefully it will make a dent in the international charts
Please listen to this and make YUKIKA a superstar. This is, without hyperbole, the best straightforward pop project I've heard this year and it's only 5 songs, clocking at 17 minutes.

It seems there is an interesting trend of building up hype for an upcoming release through snippets on TikTok + other platforms.
I know that's what happened with "7 Summers" and "Forever After All" - and this played a key factor is their unusually high debuts. Did a similar thing happened with "Calling My Phone" as well?

With the TOP song gaining that much in its third day, I could see it having legs, though we'll truly know after the weekend. I could see it becoming a radio hit, with the top ten not being out of the question (most likely on the week the album drops), but it is way too early to tell

BL is shaking What about that is supposed to be controversial or even untrue? Dua's never had numbers as high as a typical rapper with a viral hit, but to say she has never had any streaming strength in the US is too hyperbolic, that's all. Levitating is top 10 on Spotify's weekly chart and Billboard's Streaming Songs as we speak, and DSN also spent multiple weeks in the top 10 on both charts. If you had replaced the word "any" in that sentence with "as much" I don't think anyone would have blinked twice at it.

So Rapstar's success seems largely in the US, for now. More than half of its Spotify streams yesterday were from the U.S.

Apple Music is not really a streaming service where you can buy streams or fake success. The only platforms thatβs been shown to be notable to some extent on are YouTube & Spotify β that comes down free accounts and playlists being strong drivers on both services. Apple is paid accounts only, so the fact he's #1 on AM (with likely bigger numbers than Spotify) shows its general interest.
As someone said on the first page that Polo G song was really hyped by fans after snippets so Iβm guessing itβs just word of mouth which ofcourse is most prevalent in Hip-Hop music where underground names can explode on streaming overnight.
Itβs hilarious though because Pop stans hype singles based on snippets over social media and it can seem to be such a huge deal with the amount of interaction they give it (Stupid Love, Motivation, Prisoner, etc) yet those songs absolutely pale in numbers compared to lesser known rappers who have some hype with their upcoming singles. Mostly all this just goes to show that music has so many different demographics that things that seem like such a big deal in one go virtually unnoticed in others. And for whatβs itβs worth Pop stans have just become a loud minority versus a silent majority. Most people I encounter in real life probably have not truly listened to a song by these βpop girlsβ in years and have really no interest in them.

If you thought that the Scorpion or the Divide (UK charts) album bombs were huge, you havenβt seen the Italian Charts the week when Famoso by Sfera Ebbasta was released. There were originally 13 songs on the album, and they all debuted in the top 13 (i.e. : Famoso took the entire top 13 to itself). The tracks that were put on the album after release debuted in the top 5.

Wouldn't call Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus and Dua Lipa "pop girls", they are very established names in their own right. And then there are acts like BeyoncΓ© and Rihanna who might interest some people in your real life demographies and they have also success as "pop girls". But, cannot say I disagree with what you said!

Yeah, I was going to say that until I got to that portion of your post. They just sit on Twitter 24/7 posting about whatever pop girl, which gives the impression that the girls are bigger than they are. Even then, their Tweets never get popular in general Twitter, so it is very much a niche. I have no idea why people treat stan Twitter with any seriousness
