Upon the recommendation of other posters who frequently request my accredited opinion and fact-based knowledge in other subforums, such as The Polling Booth and the Christian Gospel sections, I have decided to produce yet another soon-to-be acclaimed analysis as it seems many of you are lost. Last thread was a little flowery, so I'll keep it simple here. You'll probably actually understand my argument this time.
1. It's a sale. Period. There's no difference between buying the album from taylorswift.com or having amazon ship it to you.
2. Streams count, and those aren't even physical purchases but digital manifestations of soundwaves digitally delivered to your eardrums. There's not even a production cost.
3. This one is in spanish for our latinx readers: Eu não pedi para nascer assim inteligente, mas precisa ser entendido antes de prosseguirmos. Sem dúvida, site de vendas produzir o maior lucro, permitindo uma melhor qualidade.
4. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, certain individuals are inundated with fear and do not want to leave their house or support unfair labor practices from websites like Amazon. This allows them a means of purchasing the product fairly and guilt-free.
5. Album sales are DECLINING due to streaming. Making products available through as many outlets necessary allows for better sales, which increases artist output and encourages net-growth in production and future sales. This is the ONLY way to combat streaming.
6. More often than not, website sales are MORE expensive, which means they arguably should count more. Graciously I've decided to save my expert analysis for another time, but I would propose a future rule change and adjusted model that accounts for differences in price, and allows for songs sold at a higher price to accumulate more chart points. You're welcome.
8. Some people actually like to support ARTISTS, not greedy third-party capitalist institutions that want to bleed your wallet dry and leave you shopping for wigs at party city. We should be ENCOURAGING this, and so should Billboard (referred to henceforth as "the establishment.")
9. This one may not appear to be relevant to website sales at first, but let me explain: single sales should also count towards the sales of their respective albums, and artists should also sell those digitally.
10. Website sales give power back to the consumer through means of dismantling the established relationships between the socioeconomic hierarchal proprietary and the working class.
If you have any questions, I'll be happy to continue supplying you with the knowledge you all so desperately crave.
