For a novelty act they already waited too long with this release. Surely it will be massive streaming, but I don't think US radio has accepted them as the pop force yet.

We all know "accepted by us radio" means paying them money for spins. There's nothing organic about radio. And since when they are novelty act? They are in the industry for 8 years and doing numbers in the US since 2017.

How can anyone argue that they waited too long lmao. They can drop multiple albums per year and "Dynamite" dropped from the charts less than a month ago.
As for radio, it's not a major metric of success for BTS. They don't really need it.

For a novelty act they already waited too long with this release. Surely it will be massive streaming, but I don't think US radio has accepted them as the pop force yet. Sony/Columbia started bus promo to radio stations today, giving DJs an early listen. It's getting very positive feedback. One of the DJs that heard it said it is "Big and bright, perfect for summer." The buses means it's getting radio promo. They also have a BTS Meal at McDonalds with never before offered dipping sauces. They will most likely debut it with a performance on the BBMAs. BTS's company takes control of Scooter Braun's company in 3 days so there is a very strong possibility that they will get the same playlisting adds that all other top artists get. I honestly don't think anything else releasing that week stands a chance at blocking them for #1.

All of this is really psychedelic and Andy Warhol style.

I've liked quite a few BTS songs but I thought Dynamite was generic fluff, it reminded me of Taylor Swift's worst hit ME!
Just hoping this track is better

Just hoping this track is better Some of what is being said by DJs and Program Directors who have heard it on the Butter Bus: -Blows Dynamite out of the water -Best song BTS has done -Dope -Fire -Song of the Summer (many have said this) -Can't wait to play it -Rap line is one of the best parts -Yes! (When asked if the song has rap verses) -RM brings the heat -More mature than Dynamite but not dark -When asked if BTS wrote/produced Butter one DJ said after talking about the making of the song he assumes so. Some tweets:

I would take anything radio programers say with a massive grain of salt. The whole point of this promo tour is generate buzz. It's not like these people are gonna tweet "wow, this song sucks" lol. Just like whenever Taylor Swift has secret album parties with her fans and they tweet things like "Gorgeous is the best song she's ever done" and describe everything as some synonym of "great."

Just like whenever Taylor Swift has secret album parties with her fans and they tweet things like "Gorgeous is the best song she's ever done" and describe everything as some synonym of "great." I am definitely taking the "best song they've done" comment with a grain of salt because I don't know how familiar that DJ is with their full discography, which is very extensive. The likelihood that the members actually were involved in the writing/production is really exciting, though. Dynamite was great for it's intended purpose of cheering up their fans during the pandemic, but it was missing some very important things that make BTS so great. They have 3 amazing rappers that didn't get to show their talent. Additionally, they are great writers/producers whose lyrics have so much depth and complexity. The choreography for Dynamite was really simple, too. If they wrote/produced this combined with getting airplay from it being in English everyone not already a fan is going to be shook, lol. This is another tweet saying it's going to be the Bop of Summer. Further down in the replies he says they are about to get so many new fans.

I’m trying to imagine all the ways this title could be used in a song, and not one of them has me excited.

I’m trying to imagine all the ways this title could be used in a song, and not one of them has me excited. Supposedly "Butter" in South Korea is sort of slang used to criticize/insult Kpop artists for sounding "too Westernized." The color yellow (like Butter) also has some anti Asian connotations. Some people think it could be a dis track. They are very good with word play, symbolism, tapping into concepts from literature/psychology/etc. This is why the idea of them writing/producing as well as it being in English is so exciting to those who understand the level of their talent. What non fans have heard casually doesn't even begin to scratch the surface of what they are capable of. I am especially excited for all the people who are going to be completely mind blown who think they don't like BTS but are about to find out that they actually do, lol. They're in for such a wild ride!

I don't believe any radio dj praising this song, since we found out last year they have big gc where they are making fun of them and laugh how they will never play their tracks. They are promoting because they were told to promote. But some are still trying to gain followers by saying they will play the song if fans retweet the post like BTS it's some small indie artist.

If the song is anywhere close to Boy With Luv (one of the best pop songs of all time, period), I'll be okay. I just don't want Dynamite, just literally anything else.

Yesterday radio djs were talking how different it is and has more rap, today one said that it's like Dynamite sister and if you like Dynamite you will like this. They are saying anything at this point.

I liked Dynamite. A cute bop. I hope this is something just as good (if not better).

Radio is on this along with the record company, because it's what the industry calls "appointment listening." Even if the song sucks, they'll play it until people finally are tired of it.

I saw a tweet from someone this morning who listened to it that said if you like Dynamite you will "love, love, love" Butter. Everyone is saying that it is a much better song. Physical vinyls and cassettes up for pre-order on the Butter webstore. store.bts-butter.us/
