The winners were pretty good for the most part. I was surprised Dylan Scott beat out Hardy and Lainey Wilson. Hole in a bottle was robbed though.

Not snatches asking more than once why Maren Morris pulled out, but in the same breath defending Barrett when she hasn’t made a single comment about it yet (to my knowledge) Officially reported, no. Where there’s that much smoke, there is usually fire, yes. wait what’s the smoke give me TEA Haha y’all are antsy. She’s an anti-Vaccine person - which I’m sure surprises none of us - but whatever that’s her predictable choice. However, they made everyone get COVID test to prove negative results prior to performing/being on site - and her and her husband refused. Again, i don’t have solid proof - just the rumors of the world, so take it for what you will.

But, they would have had to get covid tests for the ACMs or whatever she performed at earlier in the year. Also, her husband wouldn’t even need to be there, since she was performing with Lady A, right? I don’t really think that’s it.

The ACMs are different because they, like the 2020 show in September, were held in various different areas, each undergoing social distancing guidelines, with the only audience being in the Opry house for a limited number of vaccinated healthcare workers. These CMT (or Carrie, if you will ) Music Awards were open to everyone who proved to be vaccinated and tested negative for COVID-19. The performers all obviously had to be tested and vaccinated as well, and if it was a requirement that Gabby refused, I'm sure we can correctly deduce what her "personal circumstances" are. I've tried and I've tried to enjoy Gabby Barrett and her music despite everything I've seen from her (and her douche husband for that matter), but denying science and common sense is where I have to hang up the hat. Between this and her belief of lies regarding the 2020 election (and some of the things in between), she clearly is the antithesis of who I am and what I stand for and I can't support that.

Iff that’s the reason, that’s her choice and she made it. That’s her right as an American. Good for her. . I don’t judge singers on there personal stuff. I like her music and that’s why I rooted for her on the show. I don’t like the language you used at her Husband. You might not like him, that’s fine , but please use better words.

Ahh once again the privilege of being able to separate personal/political issues from the artist... Every single time someone criticizes Gabby this gets brought up. Good for you that you like artists for their music, not their personal/political opinions. Many people who are posters here are at risk of physical and/or emotional harm by the conservative beliefs that Gabby, her husband, and her father have touted. So it is perfectly okay for some of us to let personal/political issues dictate our liking or disliking of certain artists, just like it is okay for it to not bother you at all. Although it would be a fun study to see the political leanings of die-hard fans of conservative singers/actors/public figures because I think there's a pattern here that would actually show that many people actually like these conservative singers/actors/public figures MORE because of their political beliefs.
Speaking of fun studies please someone do a study comparing Gabby Barrett fans and the confusion of when to use the correct form of their/there/they're. I swear posts containing grammatical errors and posts made by Gabby Barrett fans are synonymous at this point.

I swear, I am to the point where I am actively rooting against Gabby Barrett's success, just so I don't have to deal with her damn fans on the Internet or her shithead of a husband and no I do not regret calling him that.

But, my point is, the requirements for her- negative test- aren’t different than they would have been a few months ago when she did perform. She performed at the billboards too, right, which would be stricter, I would assume, than the CMA shit fest last year. So she agreed a few months ago but now has a problem with it. I do agree, her politics, family, etc are problematic and I won’t support her music.

If Gabby did have a problem with the COVID testing, there will be likely more events with required testing or even possibly getting the vaccine. It would be easy to tell if we start to see her pulling out of more things & missing more opportunities.

I'm not going to further derail the thread, but feel free to send me a personal message if you want to try and understand a large portion of active posters here feel this way. If not, that's fine, but please please please stop bringing up the idea of separating artists from their personal lives [this is 100% not directly solely to you by the way]. It's deeply rooted in privilege and whether you realize it or not, a factually false statement unless you are truly unaware of someone's personal/political life. But I truly am happy to help explain. Privilege is a complicated concept for the privileged and 2nd grade grammar rules can be pretty tricky too.

I do agree, her politics, family, etc are problematic and I won’t support her music. I agree that the testing gossip doesn't seem to make a ton of sense to me since Gabby has performed elsewhere since COVID and all these other award shows had testing policies as well, I'm sure. It could have something to do with the CDC guidelines being more lax on masking, yet it was pretty clear there were still some sort of masking requirement backstage last night (although not everyone followed that well when they were shown on camera). I guess it could be that the CMTs were going to require masks at all times (when not performing) OR proof of vaccination, which it sounds like Gabby doesn't have, which could have made Gabby upset, but that's all speculation. Until otherwise confirmed, I won't further comment on speculation as to why she wasn't there; same with Maren. Maybe the dishes were piling up at home and she had to do those instead.

If Gabby pulled out because she doesn’t have the vaccine etc. I applaud her for that and for standing her ground because the vaccine should be a choice.

You don't get a choice when you lack of action has long term implications. I get she probably didn't pass high school science and thinks Jesus will cure her, but stupidity isn't a reason not to get a vaccine.

I’m vaccinated by the blood of Jesus and I assure you that will protect me until Jesus brings me home. Look I won’t criticize anyone from taking the vaccine. But don’t push it on others just because your letting Government control you some of us are not sheep.

COVID precautions could've been the reason she chose to back out of performing, but based on the fact that she's showed up to... literally everything else similar, I'm not really fully buying that theory based on the evidence we have. If she speaks on it and clarifies that it was related to that, then it is what it is, but it doesn't make much sense for her to miss out on a high-profile performing gig like this about 16 months into a pandemic when she's already been making appearance and performances on every other award show and various talk shows throughout, etc.
I find myself somewhere in the middle where I don't actively hate Gabby (her music's great imo /shrug), but I also am thoroughly exhausted by her fanbase on here.

And I won’t let people fans or non fans detour me from music I like.

Some people died of Covid yes but the vaccine is a depopulation vaccine. Meaning it’s meant to depopulate the earth bill gates said we need to depopulate the earth by 10-15%
