I think I like it on first listen? It's a pretty fun song.

This might be my favorite Bleachers song ever. Excellent.

It’s all right. Fresh compared to a lot of music and should be around this summer.

It sounds like something they would release if they were stuck in the 80's, so I approve. Whatever he is doinf with his voice makes him sound like there are a lot of hims. Gives the song an overall 80's big sound. Love the added brass.

Chinatown didn't do much for me, but this one is great. Kinda just a straight copy of the Don't Take the Money aesthetic, but I do love DTtM and the synth/sax line on this one is great

I was glad to hear how this one sounded. I thought "Chinatown" was fine, but it did make me a bit weary of future releases and what kind of vibe that they would have. I like the 80's Modern Rock/Pop feel to this one and the horns included.

From what I've seen, they're pushing this one harder than Chinatown.

From what I've seen, they're pushing this one harder than Chinatown. No Alt is going to play anything with a Springsteen feature; especially since Springsteen and his popularity was a factor in the creation of the Alternative format in the first place. I think the label knew it even though Springsteen is a legend.

This song is a grower. At first I was like "meh", but after a few listens I am starting to really dig it. Quality song from Antonoff.

I am not sure where this belief is coming from. On the 11-6-87 Gavin Alternative Charts, Bruce Springsteen is ranked at #30 in airplay. Not exactly a core artist, but not the antithesis of Alternative Rock. Also take into consideration that even today he still charts high in AAA and there are numerous alternative acts that are influenced by him. Heck, Runaways by The Killers is practically a Springsteen song.
If there is anything that factored into the early success of Alternative, it is hair metal. With the exception of the very weird 2008, no hair metal band has even sniffed alternative.

I haven't really been into anything of his since "Don't Take the Money". His singles have just felt like autopilot to me.

I added this to my weekly "new charting" playlist and it sounds awful next to everything. The percussion overpowers the vocals, and the single as a whole is 5 db below others - not sure if they're going for that or what, radio will have to overwork the compressor/equalizer on this one. I actually like the song, but the production value is low IMO.

I actually like the song, but the production value is low IMO. There are weird changes with the volume at various points, to the point I assumed it was intentional because it's so obvious.. I searched a couple days after it came out to see if Jack said anything about it. Nothing I've seen yet.

There was an issue raised about the Sonics. Apparently Jack did a new mix with more bottom end that was sent out late last week

This is pretty solid, and I like Jack, but he really hasn’t put out anything remotely close to the level of their first album except for “Don’t Take the Money”. Hopefully that run by him wasn’t a fluke and there are some gems on the album.

I thought the production was fucked up on purpose. It works well with the emotional bent of the lyrics. As one of the biggest Some Nights (the album) stan ever and having seen fun. live a handful of times (and Bleachers at festivals), I have somehow struggled to get into Bleachers as a band. But, I've always been into Jack Antonoff as an individual talent and when he started producing some of my favorite albums of the last 10 years, I decided to give his new Bleachers shit a chance and...wow. This is one of my favorite songs to hit in 2021 thus far. Massive replay value. It's beautifully chaotic, catchy, intense, powerful, sad, and joyful all at once. Bring on the album.

Top 50 on AAA: 257 50 BLEACHERS Stop Making This Hurt 86 8 78 0.14 Has anyone heard the new mix? I haven't seen it and I'm not going to sit around until WTTS plays it. Surely they're not playing the tin can version of this without some station compression.
