The country radio edit chops off about 20 seconds (mostly after the second chorus) from the original, and it sounds like there's more acoustics in the mix.

49-45* on Billboard this past week. Hopefully it will make the top 40 on next week's chart.

#4 on the Country Taking Off chart Debuts on the Spincrease chart with a move of 87 9 stations on the starters page
I'm definitely optimistic about its prospects now!

I would LOVE for this to be even bigger than "Bluebird" was last year, and the early indicators are suggesting it should be at least in the same ballpark as that one going off consumer interest.
Still thinking there's a good chance they'll wanna push "Tequila Does" as a fourth single from Wildcard and I hope they do that later this summer once "Settling Down" has wrapped its run, and "Drunk" is top 20 or 30, so it can get off to a nice start as well. Miranda needs to just keep banging out the smashes 'cause she's just on fire right now.

Miranda needs to just keep banging out the smashes 'cause she's just on fire right now. I imagine if there will be a fourth single from her last album it will probably won't be until "Drunk" is at least Top 10 like we are seeing with "Settling Down" right now (earliest probably being November/December). That being said I am not 100% convinced there will be another single from Wildcard and my gut is telling me they won't release a fourth single especially with "Drunk" being promoted. The album era started almost 2 years ago at this point, and I have to imagine with the pandemic last year Miranda Lambert has a solid chunk of new music ready to go once "Drunk" does peak, and "Drunk" could serve as a good bridge in between eras kind of like "Be A Light" was last year for Thomas Rhett.

I still think with the way she continues to promote "Tequila Does" that there's intention of it being a single.

I think it will just depend on what kind of project the Annies do, since they don't do radio it could buy her more time and she seems to be hinting the annies might come before a solo! their 10 year anniversary of hell on heels is in august so I wonder if they might have something planned for around then.

This won’t peak until the Fall and seems to be serving as a semi-single for her (similar to Bebe Rexha/FGL “Meant To Be”). I doubt we get a 4th single nearly 2 years after the album came out. I love “Tequila Does” too but sadly I don’t see that happening.

My thought is that her team will help with the Drunk promo, she'll release the Annies sometime between August and November, then release a solo lead sometime early 2022. She hasn't scheduled any fall tour dates besides a few shows and festivals, so I'm wondering if Annies might have a few dates they they're waiting to announce with new music.

Yeah this seems like the most likely calendar. I can’t imagine the Annies not touring/coming out with new music when they’re celebrating 10 years together this year. “Drunk,” like The Marfa Tapes, will likely serve as a buffer between solo MirLam eras, and she’ll likely have a lead to the next era ready by ACM time.

25 ADDS SO FAR! A great start. Second most added Also up to #2 on Taking Off and +141 on Spincrease 25 adds for the week and 34 total stations. On the Mediabase Panel there isn't gonna be any more adds for this song until next week. I will say 34 total stations for this song was a bit lower than I was hoping but it's still off to a solid start.

Considering it's Elle King's song first and foremost, that's a great adds date for this, and it's clear by the early start that radio is very interested in this one. I expect a huge smash.

The top 50 threshold is surprisingly high for country, I've never tried to track a country single before. And no song seems to be falling. Wonder how far from entering this is.

Welcome to the country radio tracking headquarters, where we wait 30-40 weeks MINIMUM for a song to make huge waves: "Bluebird" took 30 weeks (and 6 days) after debuting on country radio to hit #1. Debuted the week of December 28, 2019 and hit #1 the week of August 1, 2020. "Settling Down" is currently in its 37th week on the chart, having debuted on Country Airplay the week of October 3, 2020; while we're waiting for it still to hit #1, which still seems certain. It will be January-February 2022 before "Drunk" reaches #1, if it hits #1. And it'll be a roller-coaster ride, so bring some snacks and keep your hands and legs inside the cart at all times!

And remember one bad update doesn't spell game over for a song (unless you're a Gabby Barrett stan) so don't fret when things aren't going great for a song.

“Drunk (And I Don’t Wanna Go Home)” is officially Top 50 on Mediabase rising +13 spots to #50 this week.
I’m rooting very hard for this to go #1 in the future!
