Why are these upbeat songs so short nowadays? Is the record industry afraid we might get too attached to these positive vibes? . Anyway, I like that last single that sounded like it came off the Grease soundtrack. This one is o.k. has a nice smooth poprock retro vibe going on. What does the guy with the bucket on his head contribute this time?

Why are these upbeat songs so short nowadays? To maximize streaming. More repeat plays, more streaming revenue. He's the producer, like David Guetta, Calvin Harris, The Chainsmokers, Zedd, etc. Been a trend for over a decade now for producers to create their own material and ask musicians to collaborate rather than the other way around, thus leading to lead credit for them.

Why are these upbeat songs so short nowadays? Is the record industry afraid we might get too attached to these positive vibes? Definitely due to streaming, but I think also the vinyl revival has played a part as well.

Wow. I love this! The melody reminds me of 'Last Christmas' lol. Definitely a good vibe song.

This is a catchy song, but I’m surprised it’s doing so well right off the bat judging by the recent track record of both acts. Was there a radio deal or something?

This is a catchy song, but I’m surprised it’s doing so well right off the bat judging by the recent track record of both acts. Was there a radio deal or something? I have no clue but it seems like it or The Jonas Brothers label/management is pushing this hard. The Jonas Brothers are playing Fenway Park in Boston this summer. That holds over 30-35,000 seats for concerts.. I know they were big but... Wow, good for them. With Nick on The Voice, hosting the BMA's and everything it seems like the label/management is going for it... I like this song. When I first heard it I passed and then when everyone was comaparing the chorus to "Last Christmas" I gave it another listen and liked it. It's a grower for me personally and with each listen I notice I like it more and more. They were pretty good on the BMA's but Joe looks a little lost when he's not doing lead vocals. lol

This is pretty much an 80’s throwback so of course I definitely like this song. And yeah this song’s prechorus definitely has echoes melodically and the same tempo as the verse of Last Christmas.

I also hear "At Seventeen" by Janis Ian Yes, good catch! Those guitars in the beginning are pretty similar to that of At Seventeen (which is a great song but still one of the saddest songs I’ve ever heard in my life, I must say). And since those chords are from this song’s prechorus, I hear echoes of At Seventeen there too.
