I like the lyrics and the overall vibe, I just don’t like the layering of voices and harmony in the chorus and sprinkled around the rest of the song at all. I think it works for the bridge, but I guess I just wanna hear her singular raw voice, especially on that chorus.

0/2, but this is far worse than "Solar Power" which I didn't dislike but never felt compelled to listen to again. This is actually kinda grating to me.

I'm worried.
But I haven't heard the "California" leak which seems to be getting mostly positive feedback. It's reminding me a bit of Billie's current rollout where I want to love the songs but they are not quite clicking.

Lovely. I would have preferred this as a buzz single, and then for her to have come with something harder for the lead. Solar Power is a good album track, but this IMO is a better choice to come out of hiding with, and then hit us with a banger.

This one is more up my alley. Beautiful sound. The pre-chorus and the second part of the chorus are my favorite parts. Cool, calm, introspective song.
I just wish the first part of the chorus didn't sound that much like "hope is a dangerous thing for a woman like me to have - but I have it" by Lana Del Rey.

It’s more Phoebe Bridgers than Lana Del Rey.

This sounds more "Lana" than Lorde but it’s nice.

The lyrics are great, but I'm not a big fan of everything else going on. It's fine. Probably on par with "Still Sane" for me, which has been my least favorite album track from Lorde thusfar.

Tbh what's the difference between a full on single and a promo single for Lorde these days?

This is pretty. It sounds like the type of songs played at the credits roll of movies like Lady Bird.

I guess because I knew it would be slow and I waited to hear it within the context of the album, but….
This was an immediate album standout for me. Really great. The production adds touches of lush color periodically, and the melody is actually subtly catchy.
I mean, yeah, if you go in waiting for the big moment - it doesn’t happen. But on its own terms, it’s really lovely.
