Only included some of the biggest 2000s pop female artists with multiple hits. First flop singles: -->first flop single after releasing multiple smash hits, either barely top 20/top 40 Hot 100 peak/didnt make top 40 -->Included only the artists'own projects, didn't include collaborations/featuring credits outside the artists'own projects/charted non-singles (Examples: Beyonce's Dangerously In Love 2)

I'm limiting myself to one vote only for the sake of fairness, so I had to go with my top favorite Katy Perry song - "Thinking Of You".
These are all so strong, though. Honorable mentions to Kelly Clarkson's "Low" (+ the follow-up "The Trouble With Love Is", which should have been a signature song for her), Alicia Keys' "How Come You Don't Call Me" (fantastic tune), and Taylor Swift's "The Story Of Us" (still can't believe such a great tune flopped like that: music video, lyrics, pop rock production, everything on-point!).

Wow. Most of them are so weak compared to the 80s/90s female first flops.
The only one I dont dislike is maybe We Ride. It was a cute urban jam in 2006 but that's it. It didnt deserve to miss the Hot 100 though. The follow up smash Break It Off is far far far. weaker.

"Thinking Of You" is definitely my favorite here but hear me out:
"The Story Of Us" & "Marry The Night" go offff and "Low" is criminally underrated.

Yeah, I'm floored by the current winner. That croaked out vocal alone...
"Get Me Bodied" by miles. That song is genius. "Marry The Night" is highly underrated as well. Gaga was giving her best Irene Cara moment and everybody just took a nap on it.

Avril Lavine - "Losing Grip"
"Get Me Bodied" is a close second. I think it's better than many of Beyonce's actual singles.

Voted for "Marry the Night" by Lady Gaga. "Low" by Kelly Clarkson was also a good record.

"Losing Grip" is the best song here. One of Avril's best songs.

I remember when Let Go came out and sk8r boi/Complicated/I'm With You were massive here in Canada. I always thought Losing Grip was a kind of weak opening track, would have preferred Things I'll Never Say as the next single.

While I love and still play "Low" and "Losing Grip" - "Get Me Bodied" is like a black classic, so that one.

In this poll Beyonce and alicia Keys.

“Get Me Bodied” will never not slap, so it’s the clear winner here. “Marry the Night” would be my second choice. Indifferent to and/or dislike the rest, lmao.

Definitely Katy’s and Avril.
Merry The Night had a great chorus but the rest was meh. The rest rightfully flopped.

Katy winning. Surprised. It was such a boring track, sandwiched between 2 jams (Hot n Cold and WUIV)

It's a crime that it wasn't a bigger hit. It's such a hot one and that video is iconic.

We Ride and Thinking of You were my favorite songs from both those albums. Same with Story of Us (after Enchanted, of course). Get Me Bodied’s breakdown is classic, though.

"Marry The Night" is perfection with real angst and grit, but I also love "How Come You Don't Call Me", "Thinking of You", and "We Ride".
"We Ride" also had that phenomenal Mantronix remix that slayed my gay teenage self. Kudos for that, Riri.
