Not really. They have has a lot of solo and group hits since then. I wouldn’t lump them in with the rest. Yes Quavo and Offset had other hits but I was talking about the band not about their solo careers. Then I don’t remember that Migos had other major hits after 2017.

One Year Wonders can also be named One Album/Era Wonders, since their success came from one project only. For the Brits, two classic examples are Duffy ("Mercy" + "Warwick Avenue" from her debut), and MIKA (an incredible debut era spawning 5 top 20 hits - four being top 10, but then nothing else - sadly). We Are Golden reached #4 in the UK though

We Are Golden reached #4 in the UK though It debuted at #4, but only spent 7 weeks on the UK Top 100. Given the two other singles from the album failed to even crack the top 50 (#72 peak for both), one can assume "We Are Golden" only debuted this high out of hype from his massive debut era. A similar example would be PSY with "Gentleman", which debuted at #5 and spent 15 weeks on the charts (better than I was expecting, admittedly), but on hindsight, he's only remembered for "Gangnam Style". I'm sure most Brits would think of any single from MIKA's debut over "We Are Golden". (for those curious, "Well, Well, Well", Duffy's infamous lead for her sophomore album, managed to peak at #41 in the UK)

Carly Rae Jepsen: 2012 Charli XCX: 2014 Feel like the critical acclaim these two have gotten since their breakout years has eclipsed the fact they're not getting hits anymore

You could probably say so for the UK (even if the other two hits failed to make the Year-End), though in the US they're 100% a one-hit wonder. Fun fact: After going on hiatus in 2015, the band returned in 2019 and rebranded as push baby. I prefer Rixton as a band name, personally.

I just thought they disbanded. I didn't know they rebranded. Yeah I agree Rixton is a better name.

This is probably controversial but Meghan Trainor, yes she technically is more than a one year wonder cuz she was producing hits almost 2 years after her debut single, but legit after Me Too she sorta dropped off the radar. She had a decent string of big hits from 2014-2016 and nobody cared following that.

Naked Eyes had 3 top 40 hits in 1983, including 2 top 10s, but after that never saw the top 30 again.

twenty one pilots, Taio Cruz & Lizzo I am not sure if twenty one pilots fit this,,,maybe on Chr… but they have continued to do well on the alternative charts…. Plus Lizzo is just starting her next era… we have no idea if she is a one album wonder

Can we start explaining WHY these artists faded after one year?
Enlighten us if you know, speculate if you don't.

The term 'one hit wonder' is pretty universally known, however these days I feel like less and less artists fit that narrative. Usually you can debate an artist have one or two other *minor/moderate* hits, so I believe 'one year wonder' is much more appropriate these days Why do you feel less and less artists fit the one hit wonder bill? Something to do with the internet I'm assuming

Can we start explaining WHY these artists faded after one year? In the case of Cathy Dennis, I think she is very shy and I think she probably wasn't into doing promo and all of the traveling, interviews, etc. She's continued in the business though and made a fortune as a songwriter. For Cathy, I think she played an active role and made a deliberate decision to limit her career as a solo recording artist.

O-Zone 2004/2005
The Numa Numa Guy in 2005 couldn't get this group to stay together. I think Ashlee Simpson,Good Charlotte and Lindsay Lohan's music from that era is more remembered than them.
They have faded into Oblivion and to be never heard from again. They were really only big international and in the U.S only known for the Numa Numa Guy and The Rihanna song.
