Finally caught this on local chart station 98.5 Virgin Radio Calgary Canada. They added it early and have the whole new music add before it. It has been getting a fair amount of spins already.
I was a bit suprised though. They played an edit with "God" removed. Are other stations playing a version without it included?

Wow, how secular of Canada.
But it's not like Dua was trying to preach religious gospel, she obviously just used a common figure of speech πΏ

Canada Radio never was digitally serviced the single and Virgin stations wanted to jump on it early so they created an edit. Its nothing to do with Alberta or Ontario. And stations that are not Virgin stations in Alberta, Ontario and Quebec are playing a cropped album version. It appears to be a decision from Virgin radio independently.

Isn't it common practice to censor "God" from "goddamn"?
This ain't a scene it's a ---- damn arms race
I chime in with a haven't you people ever heard of closing the ---- damn door, no
But ---- damn, you got me in love again

yeah, that's the exact opposite of a secular decision lol. g__damn is considered blaspheming/taking the Lord's name in vain. I fully expect it to be censored on most stations in the US too.

heard it twice so far today on my local station 101.3 Virgin Radio Halifax, at 7:00am and 3:30pm. The "Goddamn"s are uncensored. Only difference from the album version is the quiet fade-in and fade-outs at the very beginning and end are cropped out.

Virgin Radio plays We're Good with the cocaine line. I doubt they'd have an issue with God damn.

This morning the same station played an edit with the beginning and end cropped out that included "God" . That's really odd because they also play the "cocaine" version of Were good.
They never edit out s**t or bitch on most songs so maybe these stations were testing reaction to the song first???
The same station plays the Panic at the disco song with it included and that song is taking it more in vain.

Hah I just started streaming the Calgary station a couple minutes ago, and they're playing Love Again now. First time I'm hearing the version with no "God". really don't like it edited.. doesn't have the same feel to it.. also don't like they way the entire section after the 2-beat pause is cut out, where the second chorus kicks back in.

As an American who lives in a largely conservative state, I've learned some things about "goddamn." There are a significant number of people who are more offended by "goddamn" than "damn", as adding blasphemy to the word gives it a stronger impact in the "one nation under God." As such, it is still censored to this day on stations that allow both "God" and "damn" by themselves, and official clean versions produced here tend to leave it out. If you're confused, welcome to America.
However, this is not the case in Dua's native country of the UK, where I've heard "goddamn" fly freely at all times of day on the national broadcaster's (usually heavily edited) radio stations. I imagine her team know about this issue and have sent a version with "god" removed out, perhaps even to places where it wouldn't be an issue.
Interestingly I've heard I Write Sins Not Tragedies uncensored on the alternative station here, but that market skews older than the pop stations here where backlash would be more likely. (One station even does the "kids' joke of the day," which was quite uncomfortable the time it was followed by S&M by Rihanna.)

I just heard at the same time lol. It's wierd how they edited the song its kinda jarring. It seems like they spead it up a bit too. This station is a huge Dua Lipa fan though she always gets massive airplay. All her singles from this era have had weeks where the station has spun them over 120 times in a week. They were also the station that pushed "New Rules" hard before she was big. On a postive note they have an announcement about the song before they play it and the dj always talks about the song after it ends. However the edit is so wierd.

Canada-Top 40 update:
50 34 DUA LIPA Love Again 299 85 214 1.161
+31 spins yesterday
Also, was featured as the "New and Now" track on Shannon Burns I heart radio top 20 countdown this weekend, syndicated across Canada. and although I didn't catch it, I'm sure it would have been featured on "New and now" on I Heart Radio Nights (also syndicated across Canada) sometime a week or so ago.. which prob accounts for the 14 adds all at once last week. There are now 16 stations showing spins, all with 7 or more TW. Highest is CHXX in Quebec City with 42.

Yay! So happy they're going to push this one. Its streams have been pretty consistent since the video release and it's already off to a good start here in Canada.

I think this will do alright but Levitating is unkillable

YAY! I wasnβt sure if it would ever be pushed but I am glad it is.
I will say that I think they shouldβve waited at least one or two more weeks because I think Levitating wonβt be descending for a while.

I don't see how this and Levitating will even affect each other. Levitating has literally reached its plateau and is already so old that I can't fathom it having a Circles/Adore You/Blinding Lights descent. Meanwhile, this will have quite a long time before it grows enough to worry about where Levitating still is at the time. Like, September. This isn't going to explode up the charts like an Olivia Rodrigo single or anything.

Exactly, if it looks like Levitating kills this, itβs because this was never going to be a hit. Personally, Iβm not so sure about hit potential but Iβd love to be proven wrong.

I still feel like this will probably peak on the lower region of the top 20. It deserves better but I feel like it has a lot of factors working against it.
