Sonically, it's just a lesser Lay It All On Me with messier vocal production, a less catchy main melody, and a weaker groove. It's chill enough to be background music but not something worth dancing too. That said, if u replaced Ed with someone more interesting like Tove Lo, even if you kept the same instrumental and lyrics, it'd be more interesting.

I Don't Care was hardly a disaster, if anything it was too bland and serviceable to have any real opinion on. It's the closest thing to an AI generated pop hit I've ever heard, there's nothing at all memorable about it aside from that weird music video where they're trying way too hard to be quirky to make up for how devoid of personality the song is.

A real disaster is something like ME!, where the creative decisions that went into it are so off base and out of touch that you really have to wonder how it got through so many people without anyone ever acknowledging what a colossal failure it was bound to be.

I'll listen to a creative pop mess over a cynical safe bland calculation is any day. Even if ME! missed the mark for a comeback, Taylor trying and putting in some effort, even if it didnt work at all, is better and more likeable than Sheeran and Bieber not giving a s**t

'ME!' is a decent song, especially if you compare it to the cringfest that is it's follow-up, 'You Need To Calm Down'. 'Cruel Summer' should have been the second single from 'Lover'.

Actually the new single is coming out with two new versions of Butter CDs. You can expect to have BTS at #1 and #2 (Just like happened with Dynamite and Savage Love remix) with Permission to Dance and Butter and there's still a high possibility of this happen for a second week too since this time both songs are from the group.

Just for reference two weeks ago their fans bought 50K in last than 16 hours because Butter was at #2 in one of the final previsions.

are we seeing a slight resurgence of EDM? roses last year was a pretty decently-sized hit, and we also got songs recently that don't make a huge splash but stick around for quite a few weeks (i.e. the business, ride it). also taking "you" gaining pretty fast into consideration and with friday debuting on the bubbling under chart, it's definitely more than prominent than the past couple years.

I think it's more of a resurgence of house music than it is EDM and I don't think it'll crossover to North America as fast as it did in Europe
