I thought Army was looking to dethrone Butter with Permission to Dance. Don't get too happy. They might try to aim for a BTS 1-2. Personally, I donβt care, it didnβt bother me that they were at 1.

There needs to be a formula change or BTS is going to be more popular than the Beatles according to Billboard, this is getting ridiculous.

With pov hitting the 20s on Hot 100, it seems like Ritt Momney's Put Your Records On is once again the lowest-peaking Hot 100 hit to reach the top 3 on pop radio (at least Billboard Pop Radio). Ariana's may still be the lowest-peaking by a woman

"Savage Love (Laxed β Siren Beat) (BTS Remix)" and "Butter (Cooler Remix)" will be classics in 40 years, just like "Let It Be" and "Hey Jude" are now.

Can't wait for when in 9 years some rock band also destined to be forever remembered cover "Butter (Cooler Remix)" and also score a forever remembered hit from it like Aerosmith did with "Come Together."

Lol it does not have to debut at the top, it's okay for a rise to the top if it can.

Week 82 and on preview Chart run of Radioactive week 82-87 33-37-39-42-48-49 Blinding Lights would probably go like this: 14-17-19-18-16-14-12-19-22-23-24 you wish... I'm pretty sure only drake's album can put it out of its misery ππ

The fact that Blinding Lights is going to break the record with recurrent rules is impressive

props to Olivia, BTS and Blackpink for giving smart and quality concerts/performances in quarantine that will actually boost their song performances. This is definitely going to make big boosts for sour!

Lol it does not have to debut at the top, it's okay for a rise to the top if it can. Bad Habits gives me a Leave The Door Open vibe where it wouldnβt debut at the top but head to #1 in a couple weeks from now (even though it wouldβve if it werenβt for the top 3 being occupied by a certain Pulse regular favorite that week). Iβd say let Butter (please) and G4U die down a little, and that would make songs like Bad Habits and Kiss Me More get more of a chance to hit #1.

From the Five Burning Questions article A few things to point out from this - First the obvious and confirms one of this threads complaints
- Butter's run at #1 is at this point largely sales driven by the "Army"
However
- As radio is growing, they say this has a chance to be the song of the summer even if sales slip a but
It does not confirm the theory - The same few people are buying 50 copies a week

I guess the radio is just done with Peaches, it loses even bigger today and I wonder how long it'll stay in the top 10 with the bleeding like it is.

Yeah "pov" has now officially hit it's peak, Not bad for a 3rd single from an A-List Pop Star. The fact that she still managed to go Top 3 in Pop Radio even with the song itself not performing that well in the other metrics is really just a testament to her star power. It really is just hard to believe that only 3 years ago before the release of the single "Thank U Next" that she had not yet gotten a number one on the Hot 100. I mean the week that she released that song really just took her mainstream career to a whole other level and I just couldn't be more proud of seeing just how far she has come since then.

I mean aren't some people dragging Maroon 5 and Ed Sheeran for similarly radio fueled hits? "pov" did terrible on all other metrics in a way no recent M5 or Sheeran single has done. I love Ari but it can't be "star power" for her and payola for the acts we don't like.

Well if you dislike Bad Habits you could always hope that a fast rise means a relatively fast fall. That's happened before. But it is Ed Sheeran lol.
Personally, the song elicits no emotional reaction out of me whatsoever so...eh.

I love Ari but it can't be "star power" for her and payola for the acts we don't like. well, "pov" still made top 15 on streaming songs... unlike "Afterglow," which entirely missed the streaming Top 50, for example. not to mention Ariana's previous 2 singles were #1 smashes and... New piece of information in this Billboard article: proving once again that MediaBase Callout Research is just one of many tools available to radio PDs. as for this... Less than a week since its release and Bad Habits is almost Top 20 on overall. Abhorrent Why? it's showing "Look What You Made Me Do" & "Born This Way" kind of gains on radio (perhaps even better than those) without the support those two had from streaming/sales and the public discourse. this is a lot of unjustified radio love, especially for an artist whose last single peaked at #19 on overall radio (and never made the Top 50 on streaming).

Iβm probably more amazed at despite how Arianaβs first 3 singles have come and gone, Levitating and Forever After All still continue to go strong.
