Here are some pre-reveal questions to get us started:

1. What will be #1? Maybe "Anymore"?
2. What songs will be in the top 5? Top 10? "Tell Me I Was Dreaming", "Take It Easy", "Help Me Hold On", "Here's A Quarter", "T-R-O-U-B-L-E", "It's A Great Day To Be Alive", "I'm Gonna Be Somebody", and "Where Corn Don't Grow" feel like pretty safe bets for the top 10. Maybe "Foolish Pride" or "Country Club" as well.
3. What will be #45? I'm predicting "You Never Take Me Dancing". That one was quite bad, lmao. (Also made worse by weird availability. Like, I listened to the version on The Calm After because The Storm wasn't available, and it was paired with this weird track called "Mud Cat Moan", and honestly sounded like it might have been some terrible remix of the original or something, lmao)
4. What other songs will be in the bottom 10? "Ghost Town Nation" and "Smoke In A Bar" from his latest album. "Country Ain't Country", "What Say You", "Put Some Drive In Your Country", "The Girl's Gone Wild", and "Something Stronger Than Me" strike me as likely contenders as well.
5. Which songs will be most polarizing? Least? Most: "Lord Have Mercy On The Working Man" or any of the Marty Stuart duets. Least: "Anymore"/"Tell Me I Was Dreaming".
6. Which album will be the first to be eliminated? Lmao I don't know his albums, but I suppose The Storm is a safe bet in light of my prediction for #45!
7. Which album will be the last remaining with multiple songs? This is tough... Maybe It's All About To Change? I could see "Here's A Quarter" and "Anymore" both sticking around into the top 5 or else close to it.
8. Any other thoughts or predictions? Y'all better not have done "Help Me Hold On" dirty!!! Surely it should fare better in a rankdown with only his own stuff to compare it to...

1. What will be #1? Wild guess of "Anymore" or "I'm Gonna Be Somebody"
2. What songs will be in the top 5? "I'm Gonna Be Somebody", "Anymore", "Tell Me I Was Dreaming", "It's a Great Day to Be Alive", and "Help Me Hold On" Top 10? "Modern Day Bonnie and Clyde", "Take It Easy", "Here's a Quarter (Call Someone Who Cares)", "T-R-O-U-B-L-E", and "Strong Enough to Be Your Man"
3. What will be #45? Please oh please let it be "You Never Take Me Dancing"!
4. What other songs will be in the bottom 10? "Ghost Town Nation", "Set in Stone", "Smoke in a Bar", "Something Stronger Than Me", "Worth Every Mile", "Start the Car", "I See Me", "Helping Me Get Over You", and
5. Which songs will be most polarizing? "Lord Have Mercy on the Working Man", "T-R-O-U-B-L-E", and maybe "The Girl's Gone Wild". I'm also afraid that "Modern Day Bonnie and Clyde" may be pretty polarizing as well. Least? "Love of a Woman", "Anymore", "I'm Gonna Be Somebody" and maybe something from the Set in Stone album?
6. Which album will be the first to be eliminated? Either Set in Stone or The Storm.
7. Which album will be the last remaining with multiple songs? Either Country Club or It's All About to Change.
8. Any other thoughts or predictions? I think this is gonna be wildly unpredictable and it wouldn't surprise me to see some top-ranked songs of mine to leave early. Hopefully that won't happen in the bottom five, but I can see me losing a top 20 in the bottom ten or fifteen.

1. What will be #1? Where Corn Don't Grow.
2. What songs will be in the top 5? Top 10? WCDG, Help Me Hold On, Take It Easy, I'm Gonna Be Somebody, Tell Me I Was Dreaming.
3. What will be #45? Ghost Town Nation.
4. What other songs will be in the bottom 10? You Never Take Me Dancing, Start the Car, The Girl's Gone Wild, Honky Tonkin... (with Marty Stuart)
5. Which songs will be most polarizing? Least? I could imagine several ballads being polarizing, since Pulse hates ballads and yet those are his strength. All his later singles will probably have low SD.
6. Which album will be the first to be eliminated? The Storm. The first single was terrible, the second was very blah.
7. Which album will be the last remaining with multiple songs? Hmm. I'll guess Country Club.

Written by adult contemporary and pop rock singer-songwriter Richard Marx, "You Never Take Me Dancing" was released as the first single to Travis Tritt's tenth studio album, The Storm, which was produced by Randy Jackson. The was his only album under Category 5 Records which folded soon after the albums release as its founder was being investigated for fraud. In 2013, Tritt acquired the rights to the album in order to re-release it via his own Post Oak Records and released the recordings under the album title The Calm After.... Rightly predicted by and expected from the majority of the group, it shouldn't come as a surprise to see this bow out first as nine participants in all placed this within their bottom 5. Of those, four participants including myself, Cody Wants Out..., toomuchboy, and bboat11 all get a perfect ranking and see their last place song exit right out of the gate. Only Kanenrá:ke was brave enough to put this just outside of his top 30.

"Ghost Town Nation" was the first song released from Tritt's most recent release, Set In Stone, which was his first album in more than a decade. Again, not much of a surprise here as this was predicted either to come in last place or somewhere within the bottom 10. Much like the first song to exit, this accumulated the majority of its rankings down from within the bottom 5 with kw9461 losing their last place. Also, we end up seeing our least polarizing leave in the bottom 2 as the remaining ranks came just outside of or within the bottom 10.

My, oh my, how times have changed But man sometimes I miss them old days They say we've come a long way, but I'd say it's a little bit too far From when the world turned slower, and you could smoke in a bar 43. And just like that, Set In Stone is the first to lose two of its songs as "Smoke in a Bar" exits next leaving only the title track remaining. With the majority of the rankings coming from within the bottom 5, this failed to gain much traction and pretty much remained a solid bottom 3 contender for its entire run. We do see our first top 30 loss, however, from Cody Wants Out... with both castleoblivion26 and .indulgecountry losing their last place.

8. Any other thoughts or predictions? It wouldn't surprise me to see some top-ranked songs of mine to leave early. Hopefully that won't happen in the bottom five, but I can see me losing a top 20 in the bottom ten or fifteen. Welp, it does in fact happen within the bottom 5 as you become the first participant to lose a top 20 with "The Girl's Gone Wild" leaving next. This was actually initially a strong contender for last place for the first half of its run as it picked up back-to-back rankings for last place from someguy and Kanenrá:ke followed by a bottom 3 from myself. While Cody Wants Out... 's top 20 ranking did bump this up a few notches, it didn't do much to help as everyone else put this somewhere at or very near their bottom 10.

"Something Stronger Than Me" was the final single released from The Storm as the label Category 5 Records would close soon thereafter. While this did pick up only two bottom 5s, the majority of the group still ranked this at or near their bottom 10 with myself becoming the second participant to lose a top 30. As I mentioned in a previous post, Tritt acquired the rights to the album The Storm and re-released it via his own Post Oak Records under the title The Calm After... in July 2013. This also technically means we lose two albums at the same time as I opted not to include "Sometimes Love Just Ain't Enough" for the rankdown.

"Worth Every Mile” was released in October 1993 as the fifth and final single from Tritt's third studio album, T-R-O-U-B-L-E, and up to that point was only the fourth time that a single failed to make the top 10. This was actually added at the insistence of Kanenrá:ke who in turn becomes the first participant to see one of their top 10 rankings depart. While it was initially a top 30 contender, it eventually settled back into the bottom 10 where it would remain for the duration of its run. Most of the rankings came somewhere within the top 40 range with both Cody Wants Out... and castleoblivion26 placing it in their bottom 5. I admittedly don't have any recollection of hearing this on the radio nor do I recall seeing the video on CMT (and I'm usually pretty good with my '90s country!), but this ended up almost being a re-discovery that I had to listen to a handful of times. I say that in a good way because I do think that this song is a grower and the more you listen to it the more it captures your attention. I can certainly understand some of the lower rankings, though, if this was your first time hearing it or if you just gave it one spin and moved on.

"Set in Stone” is the title track to Travis Tritt's most recent studio album that was released in May of last year. This also becomes the third studio album to exit as both "Ghost Town Nation" and "Smoke in a Bar" bowed out in the bottom 3. The rankings for this were a bit muddled and all over the place as we had a trio who put this in their top 30, a trio that put this in their top 40, and then another trio who placed this down inside their bottom 5 including a bottom 2 from .indulgecountry. The only one not belonging to a pack was bboat11 who put this in their top 20. While I knew that this was likely going to wind up down in the bottom 10, it's still a tad bit disappointing to see because I think it certainly stands out on its own and fits right in and above some of his other work throughout his career.

Clocking in as the second most polarizing song of the rankdown, Tritt's remake of Jude Cole's 1992 hit "Start the Car" exits next and becomes his second single from the '90s to leave. This was released as the third and finale single to Tritt's sixth studio album, No More Looking Over My Shoulder, which became the first single of his career to miss Top 40 on the country charts. This was initially a top 30 contender as someguy, Kanenrá:ke, and gardyfan all placed this in their top 25. It eventually settled back and even came close to slipping back into the bottom 5 a couple of times late into its run. That was due in part to a string of bottom 5 rankings finding its way including castleoblivion26, Cody Wants Out..., and toomuchboy whom all put this just shy of last place. It received a bit of late support, though, with bboat11 coming in with a top 20 and a lone top 10 ranking from .indulgecountry which wound up bumping this one up a couple of more spots. I think I would definitely have to reconsider my bottom 5 ranking for this as it really only landed down in there as I really only ever heard this song in passing (I'm also just more familiar with the original version myself). I can see this song working really well for his live shows and in fact he may have been performing it in his concerts during this time which led him to want to do a studio version. And of all the songs that I've kind of wanted to come back around to after the fact, this is one of them as I just couldn't get it out of my head! I'm still not surprised, however, that it ended up bowing out early.

Recored with John Mellencamp, "What Say You" was released in August 2004 as the second single from Tritt's album My Honky Tonk History and reached number 21 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. This is the second song from the album to exit as its lead single, "The Girl's Gone Wild", left in the bottom 3 leaving only "I See Me". Believe it not, this was a solid top 30 contender and only dipped back into the bottom 10 in the final moments of the rankdown which was due in part to a lone bottom 5 ranking from bboat11. The majority of the rankings actually came from within the top 30 which included a near top 20 from Cody Wants Out... as well as a top 15 from Kanenrá:ke.

"Country Ain't Country" was released in January 2003 as the second and final single from the album Strong Enough and reached #26 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart. This began its run down inside the bottom 5 as someguy kicked things off which was followed-up by a pair of bottom 10s from myself and Kanenrá:ke. A near top 15 from toomuchboy was what this song needed to create some space from the other songs jostling for a spot down in the bottom. A top 10 from kw9461 would follow-up on the heels of that which in turn would bring this out of the bottom 10 altogether for the first time. That would be short-lived, however, as a final bottom 5 ranking from bboat11 and a top 15 from .indulgecountry would all but cancel each other out. In the end, this only managed to settle back into the bottom 10 by a mere one point!
