"Put Some Drive in Your Country” was released as the fourth single in September 1990 from Tritt's debut album, Country Club, and only reached the Top 30 as it received a bit of resistance from radio programmers because of its rock-delivery. This briefly found itself inside the top 30 where it landed in the middle of its run as it picked up a top 15 ranking from castleoblivion26 followed-up by a lone top 3 from gardyfan. Unfortunately he also becomes our first participant to lose a top 5 ranking. It began to settle back, however, as the majority of the group wound up placing this somewhere within their top 40 with only Kanenrá:ke giving this the bottom 5 treatment.

"She’s Going Home With Me” was released in April 1997 as the third single from the album The Restless Kind where it reached number 24 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart. Unfortunately for gardyfan, that means losing a top 15 just on the heels of losing a top 5. This mostly hovered in and around the top 35 over the course of its run as the majority placed this either within that range or in the top 30. Much to Kanenrá:ke's delight I'm sure, however, he loses back-to-back bottom 5s!

"No More Looking Over My Shoulder” was released in January 1999 as the second single and title track from the album of the same name and reached #38 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart. As our first song not to receive any bottom 5 rankings, this was an early top 20 contender where it even briefly flirted with the top 15. That's thanks to both someguy and Kanenrá:ke who kicked things off with top 20 rankings followed-up by yet another one from castleoblivion26. It began to settle back, however in the last half of the rankdown as we began to pick up additional participants who mostly placed this within their top 40. While an additional top 20 from bboat11 would briefly see this return to the top 30, that was more or less cancelled out by .indulgecountry's final submission which pushed this back a few spots.

"Honky Tonkin's What I Do Best" was released in April 1996 as the first single and title track from Marty Stuart's ninth studio album, Honky Tonkin's What I Do Best and reached number 23 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks. t was nominated for the 1997 Grammy Award for Best Country Collaboration as well as Vocal Event Of The Year Award at the CMA Awards in 1996. This is one of three collaborations featured with Marty Stuart in the rankdown with both "The Whiskey Ain't Workin'" and ""This One's Gonna Hurt You (For a Long, Long Time)" still remaining. This had a steady climb into the top 30 where it eventually would even find itself just a couple spots shy of the top 20. It picked up quite a bit of support early on including a top 10 from castleoblivion26 and a top 15 from gardyfan who unfortunately hasn't had a great round. It settled back, however, where it eventually found itself outside of the top 30 yet again due mostly in part to a lone bottom 5 ranking from toomuchboy . Otherwise, the rest of the group still placed this somewhere within their top 40. And just for fun, here are the Hot Country Knights doing their own take on this song. I'm still bummed that the pandemic all but derailed the tour for them as I think it would've been a hoot!

"Looking Out for Number One" was released in July 1993 as the fourth single from the album T-R-O-U-B-L-E and reached number 11 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart. Despite someguy kicking things off with a top 20 ranking, I followed that up with a near bottom 5 which sent this straight to the back of the top 30. It would mostly hover in and around that for the duration of its run as the majority of the group would rank this somewhere within that range. I've never really taken a liking to this song and I'm surprised I didn't end up placing it in my bottom 5. More than not, I can't hit skip fast enough whenever I happen to come across this song.

Definitely did not expect "Start the Car" to be one of the most polarizing!

"Honky Tonkin's What I Do Best" is out WAY to early. Love that song, absolutely should not be out already
sad but not shocked to see "No More Looking Over My Shoulder" be out already. I like that one a lot, I remember when it came out I loved the song so much that I went and bought the CD single for it that also featured "Start The Car". Never liked STC though.

Definitely did not expect "Start the Car" to be one of the most polarizing! Me either. It was my favorite discovery. :( Some of these results are very surprising to me. I can't believe "Put Some Drive in Your Country" is out already, too.

Good Monday evening, y'all! I'm going to go ahead and keep the ball rolling which means we'll be unveiling the Top 25 songs tonight. Of the six ties in the rankdown, two of them will be revealed back-to-back just as we enter the top 30 with both having a #11 ranking which was used as the tie-breaker. Let's find out what the first tie of the rankdown was!

"Still in Love with You" was released in November 1997 as the fifth and final single from the album The Restless Kind and was a Top 25 hit in early 1998. someguy's initial top 20 ranking would be the highest position the song would achieve, though, as the majority of the rankings for this fell somewhere within the top 30 here, however, where it hovered in and around for the majority of its run. I happened to be the lowest on the totem pole as I was the only one to place this in my bottom 10.

"Pick Her Up” was the lone single released from the debut album of Hot Country Knights, The K Is Silent, which is a parody music band formed by country music singer Dierks Bentley in 2015. This actually wasn't even a top 30 contender until the final two submissions pushed this just inside of that where it ended up tying in points with the previous song. It would be bboat11's near top 10 ranking that was both the tie-breaker and all this song needed to leap out ahead of the bottom 10 and into the top 30. While .indulgecountry followed that up with a near top 15, that wasn't quite enough to push this any further. Even still, it's only separated by our next song by a mere two points! It was pretty evenly divided as far as the rankings went for this as about an even split put this either in their top 40 or top 20.

"I See Me” was released in March 2005 as the third and final single from the album My Honky Tonk History and reached #32 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart. This is the final single to exit from the album as both "The Girl's Gone Wild" and "What Say You" left in the bottom 10 of the rankdown. While this too was initially a bottom 10 contender, it picked up its first top 15 ranking from castleoblivion26 in the middle of its run which provided this just enough cushion where it remain outside of that going forward. He was joined inside the top 15 by both kw9461 and finally .indulgecountry which slid this back into the top 30 in the final moments. Everyone but gardyfan placed this somewhere within their top 40 as he loses his last place here.

Of the highlighted album tracks above, the title track is co-written by Luke Bryan while "We've Had It All" is co-written by Travis and Marty Stuart. Also, "Small Doses" has another familiar songwriter attached to it as it was co-written by Chris Stapleton. I've gone back to listen to that song a few times already and you can definitely hear Chris's influence on it. It'd actually be great if Chris would come back around to this song and record it for himself on a future project.

"Ten Feet Tall and Bulletproof" was released in August 1994 as the second single and title track from the album of the same name and was a Top 25 hit in late 1994. It wasn't able to match its peak on the charts here, however, as it spent much of its time hanging outside of the top 30 altogether. In fact, this dipped back into the bottom 5 early on due to a combination of a bottom 2 from Kanenrá:ke's followed up by a bottom 10 from yours truly. It managed to leap outside of that, however, half way into its run thanks to a top 15 from Cody Wants Out.... He would be joined there by both kw9461 and .indulgecountry whose near top 10 ranking brougth this to a landing at its highest spot of the entire rankdown.
