This is simply a fun song. Not every song has to be Grammy-winning quality to be enjoyable (and let's be honest, not all Grammy-winning-quality songs are enjoyable, anyway).
Rooting for this song to go even higher on the Hot 100!

'Country Stuff' is now Walker Hayes' highest entry on the Billboard 200, rising to #35 and surpassing 'boom.', which peaked at #37.

Would be really cool to see this have a chance at hitting #1 on the Hot 100. I think there's at least a small chance with it being top 10 there already with a ton of airplay left to grow, both at Country and also on other formats now that its crossover has begun (top 40 on CHR now and climbing). It's so rare, almost impossible for a country song to top the Hot 100, so it would be awesome to see Walker Hayes of all people accomplish such a feat. Either way, this is definitely going down as a monumental smash.

I might be in the minority on this take, but I think it was a mistake to start using this in the Applebee’s commercial already. I get why they did it ($$$), but I feel like that opportunity would have still been there a year from now once this song is long gone from the charts. I think using it in a commercial now really cheapens the song making it seem like it was specifically written with intention of being a jingle. Already saw an article on one of the college websites complaining how this song/commercial already outplayed it’s welcome week 1 of college football games.

If it is not a hit, would Applebee choose this song for commercial though? There is a weird characteristic of the songs chosen for commercial where they are current, or at least 3-4 years later from being a hit (See Believer by Imagine Dragons). Using the song for commercial during recurrency is not a good idea because the listeners are probably tired from the song.

This has the potential to be great. Bring on Timber0.2! Listened to the remix, and I’m not sure Kesha adds much to the song. I think the label is going for a Hot 100 #1 with shock factor here, but I’m not sure how much this moves the needle. I could be way off-base here, but I think it loses a little bit of the innocence Walker Hayes brought to the table.

I do not like the remix really, despite liking Kesha, but this is just the biggest surprise mega-hit of the year and I’m so happy for Walker.
The streams for this remix should keep it in the top 10 of the Hot 100. And they can ship this version to pop and maybe get some of the more hesitant stations more on board.

The ad has played quite literally ad nauseum to the point I have to mute my damn TV. If I hear that damn chorus one more time I’ll cut my cable subscription.
That said, this song’s success…Jesus Christ, I don’t think I have ever seen anything like this. Granted I’m only just about to turn 21 in a couple weeks but still. It’s simply incredible how this song has performed and I’d love for it (of all songs and artists too) to hit #1 on the Hot 100, because of the rarity of it. Carrie Underwood is the only one in my lifetime to do it, and Luke Combs is the only other one to come close (had Ariana Grande not released that week he’d have done it too, and that would have been a 15 year gap between he and CU).

It reminds me of “Convoy”. (You youngins can Google that one, lol!)

Sounds like a country song chart performance to me

It's #5 on the Hot 100 this week. If it tops that chart, Walker Hayes would be the first country solo male artist to top that chart since Eddie Rabbitt did so with I Love A Rainy Night in 1981 (also #1 country and #1 adult contemporary).

Perks of being an actual Applebee’s employee (for the moment) & therefore this song has become a quotable punchline in the household.
Honestly I find it catchy as hell though.

This is a monster hit in every way fathomable. Obviously, a sales/streaming monster, but it's on fire at country radio too. Walker's gained over 400 spins in the last two Mediabase updates and blew past Luke Combs, Jon Pardi and ZBB in the process. It technically only impacted seven weeks ago (charted before that) and is already at #13 on the MB rolling chart...that's pretty nuts lol.
The testing doesn't even have enough familiarity to qualify for the free access to MB callout -- that's just how fast it has gone up the radio chart.

At this point, I feel like multiple songs are going to be blocked from #1 on Billboard Country Airplay coming up since this and "If I Didn't Love You" will more than likely spend 2-5 weeks each at #1 on that chart lol.

If Monday Morning Intel is to be trusted, this has/will have a great callout. Also...look me correcting predicting its radio success despite hating the song. Y'all forget GOOD TIME hit #1 on Billboard's Country Airplay chart. It'll come down to whether country radio listeners like this vocal delivery. I actually see it doing pretty well on radio.

The crossover airplay will only help. I can see this being like "The Bones" where it's high on callouts for a long period of time.

Love him or hate him, Walker has always been different and stood out from all the generic run-of-the-mill males we have to watch climb to #1 in 45 weeks, so I am so happy to see a truly unique tune fly up the chart, and hope it can lead to continued success for him.

To be fair, I'd say he pulls a lot from Sam Hunt. The vocal delivery especially.
