Love him or hate him, Walker has always been different and stood out from all the generic run-of-the-mill males we have to watch climb to #1 in 45 weeks, so I am so happy to see a truly unique tune fly up the chart, and hope it can lead to continued success for him. To be fair, I'd say he pulls a lot from Sam Hunt. The vocal delivery especially. And Sam Hunt pulled a lot from Drake, and R&B singers

This is hilariously bad and un-country, as noted by the rare country music fans that fleetingly appear on this board. If only being associated with the dire and failing Applebee's corporate brand could add some credibility to this tune 🙃

First: Johnny Cash and George Strait have very different sounds. Second: this dainty little pop ditty isn't country by Cash, Strait, or (forgive my sins, dear Lord) Luke Bryan standards.

Hopefully this sees Single of the Year noms at the ACMs and CMAs next year. Like "Body like a Backroad" I am not sure you can ignore it.

12th week on chart, "Fancy Like" jumps into the top ten as it moves from #13 to #9 on Billboard Country Airplay.

I might not be the biggest fan of the song (I must admit it grew on me just a little bit but overall still a no from me), but it's really refreshing to see a breakout hit storm up the airplay charts. You might see this fast of a rise for lead singles from format superstars but I feel like for acts that aren't established it usually takes forever to move up the chart.

I think this will go to #1 on Billboard Country Airplay & stay there for a few weeks. I think it will block several singles from #1.

I don't know how many (if any) songs this will block, but I love the randomness of this song's run interrupting the payola "MAX SPINS NOW" weeks for several of the songs in the Top 10 right now LOL.

Eh, country radio really likes to group the hit songs and push them at similar times. I don't think any songs in top 10 will be blocked solely because of this song. My Boy and I Was On A Boat That Day probably won't reach top because of weak callout anyway.

I really want "My Boy" to go #1, but like recordyear said, weak callouts and I don't really think it's selling or streaming all that well, so a Top 3 peak would be a win for it.
The one song I'm really worried about is "Chasing After You". I was hoping for it to be a #1 on Billboard and Mediabase, but at this point I think it will be a Mediabase-only #1 at the best unless "Fancy Like" or "If I Didn't Love You" block it.
Considering Ryan isn't a big name and Maren isn't at a Carrie or Miranda level status yet, this song has done really well with sales/streaming along with good callouts. I personally think it deserves to be a multi-week #1, but I think that ship has sailed.

I get this song is popular and is absolutely smashing on all fronts. But I have continued to try and like this song and I just don't and it is everywhere, whether it be country radio, pop radio, Tik-Tok, hell I see it on Twitter a bunch.
Good for Walker Hayes, I just pray that the success of this song doesn't lead to a bunch of new and establish artists making similar songs melodically like this as whenever country music has an absolute mega smash whether it be "Need You Now" or "Cruise", the country music genre always tries to recreate the magic of that (after "Need You Now" there was a large influx of Male/Female duets, after "Cruise" the bro-country genre dominated country music for 2013 to about 2015) and never gets the magic of the original and often times fall flat on their faces.

(after "Need You Now" there was a large influx of Male/Female duets,) Care to explain this part a bit? Because I have never seen this argument online anywhere before.

Sure, after 2010 saw "Need You Now" do such wonders as a big power ballad and become a genre defining hit. During late 2010 and later 2011 and 2012 there was a lot of male female duets that for me felt very similar in nature. Whether it be Jason Aldean & Kelly Clarkson "Don't You Wanna Stay", Brad Paisley & Carrie Underwood "Remind Me", Lady A's own "Just A Kiss", Rascal Flatts/Natasha Bedingfield "Easy", Gloriana "Kissed You Good Night", Thompson Square "Glass". All songs with varying degrees of success but all released within 2011 and 2012 as all had a similar sound of being ballads and darker in nature like "Need You Now" without having that spark that made the OG so great and connect with so many people. Not saying this trend was bad, just that it existed in my eyes. For all I know people reading this think I am sounding like a dumbass. Hope I explained it the best way possible.

I agree that a lot of times there’s a lot of copy cats to try to duplicate the success but male/female duets have always been around. Tim and Faith did a bunch before Lady A. And Allison and Brad, Vince and Reba, Reba and B&D, Dolly and Kenny, etc etc etc. I get your point though.

Enters the Top 10 on the all-genre Radio Songs chart this week at #8.
Walker's first Top 10 on the chart and the 5th country song this decade to achieve this.

#5 on the Hot 100 for a third week. If Walker Hayes stays there for two more weeks and peaks there, he will match Ronnie Milsap in that achievement. Milsap did so in 1981 with There's No Gettin' Over Me. That topped the country chart and peaked at #2 on the adult contemporary chart.

This is a Top 5 Hot 100 AND Country Airplay smash and I STILL genuinely have never heard this on my local radio station, lol. I'm sorry, but I do echo raylatch98's sentiments. It's gonna be so incredibly nauseating if this magic tries to get recreated every other month next year, as I already can't stand this song as is. I've heard the chorus alone on TV enough times to last a lifetime. Very happy about the success tho as this is simply unheard of for country music.

Is there a chance this can get to #1 on the Hot 100?

Is there a chance this can get to #1 on the Hot 100? If Adele wasn't releasing, I would say yes, but I think this will be like "I Hope" and peak at #3 at best since "Stay" by The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber is very stable. If Adele ends up underperforming, then I think Walker has a shot at #1 (assuming "Stay" begins to fall in more categories too).

So one of my local stations is playing the awful remix version in addition to the original version. Ugh.

This might be the most overexposed country song in a long time. Not only is it in the Applbee's commercial, playing 2 different versions on radio, but now it is the bumper music into commercials for one on the MLB playoff series. Not just one time, last night it was every time they took a commercial break.
