Surprised Weatherman got more love as the submissions come. I don't think this is one of stronger female-led rock songs, but congrats to this for being the highest female song. razorshark loses a #2. tim loses a top 5. |

Channel 42 is a consistent top 5 contender and reached #1 for two lists. deadmau5 is the kind of artist that is more suited for singles listening than albums listening so I am not too surprised it ends up high here. Strong beats also. Condolences to tim for losing the #1. You can blame razorshark for that lol. trilogy got a peefect ranking. |

I enjoy the wall of sound in Unknow. It paints the wilderness very well and is very suitable for a racing game like this, which features a good amount of highways and mountainsides. This also introduced The Maccabees to me and I love the band very much. Auck to see them breakup after releasing one more album.
This doesn't hit #1 during submission but is a consistent top 5 contender (as it should).

very much expecting a galvanize win for this It is, but it isn't the runaway winner like some might be expecting. Tbh I have never associated Crosses with Deftones until recent years, because I don't think the vocalist of Crosses sounds like Chino Moreno (it is though). However, after seeing strong performance of (imo weaker song) Ohms in the rankdowns, it comes natural that this would end up high here, which is grrat because I think Telepathy is a great song with rich elements. I have said Butterflies & Hurricanes is the song that turns me into a muser years ago. To this day I still think the piano solo is one of the most beautiful piece ever in rock music. It is Muse's epic sound showcased well. This should have been the theme song of 2012 Olympics but alas they made the awkward Survivor for that...Back to the topic, a version which the piano solo is shortened appears at the intro of the game. Glad it was close to #1. Really enjoy the unique music in Galvanize too. It feels like a retro hip hop track in a good way. It did take time for this to grow on me though. Congratulations to aerodynamite and peacebone for perfect ranking! |

I should give a formal closure to this. Thanks for everyone from different backgrounds to participate in this rankdown of a game soundtrack which contributes to a significant part of my teenage years and my early music taste. Surprisingly the results are generally more consistent than I thought. I hope y'all enjoy this too. May we see again in the future. (I have no plans to host the remaining soundtrack rankdowns for Need For Speed games, though.) |
