Jalen Ngonda is a singer/songwriter from the DMV that started writing songs at the age of 14. Recognizing his talent, his church raised enough money to help send him to the Liverpool Institute for the Performing Arts. Several years later, after honing his craft and graduating, he earned a last-minute opening slot for Jools Holland which was attended by Daptone Records co-founder Neal Sugarman. Long story short, he earned a deal and started preparations for recording his debut album a month before the Covid-19 pandemic took hold. Lost is taken from that album, Come Around and Love Me, which finally saw release on September 8th, 2023.
