I have a pretty high cheese tolerance when it comes to music–in part built up by being subject to hearing Clay Aiken ballads ad nauseam when visiting my grandmother. But something about this is so cheesy to me lmao. Not enough to make me dislike it, but enough to put it in the bottom tier of the album for me. taylor , .indulgecountry , and tim each lose a top 5.

LMAO my primary thought when listening to this was literally " taylor's going to be the highest ranker for this"! I did enjoy "If I Had Wings" a lot! I just found that compared to much of the rest of the album, this one didn't hold up as well to repeat listens. Something like "Forever Road" only got better with each listen, while this one is more of an every-once-in-awhile-when-you're-in-the-right-mood type of song.

In our last reveal for the night, "While I Still Got the Time" leaves us at #8. Only 7 points separate these last 3 reveals, and only 27 points separate all of the reveals so far–that'll change after this (well, after #7 technically).
"While I Still Got the Time" has a great intro melody/riff–if the rest of the song was as good as it, the song would probably one of my favorites on the album. However, the song kinda falls a little flat outside of that melody for me. I don't think there were many strong feelings for the song–it has the 2nd lowest standard deviation in this rankdown, only one top 5 rank, and only one #13 rank.

Kind of shocked to see "All I Want" out so early. I remember that being a huge fan favorite when the album came out. I seem to remember Darius wanted it to be the 4th single, but the label went with "History In The Making" instead.

This is the only track on the album that Darius didn’t have a hand in writing. It’s quite different in subject matter from the rest of the album so it makes sense. ClevelandRox ’s description of the song as “IM DYING” made me laugh out loud because it’s true He has made his feelings about the song very apparent and his #13 rank just reenforces that!

Another Chris Stapleton co-write! This one definitely had hit potential. I love the energy of the song and the bridge's structure is pretty unique-sounding. Unfortunately, "Forever Road" was also the 2nd most polarizing song in this rankdown which frankly surprised me! Those #11 and #12 ranks really did it in.

Let's try this one again. Hopefully no one saw that I posted this before. "Alright" is the first single to leave this rankdown. Being the biggest hit commercially from the album, one would expect it to do better than #5, but Pulse marches to its own beat! In fact, it was the most polarizing song on the album, garnering several top 5 ranks but also receiving last-place ranks from castleoblivion26 and .indulgecountry . Personally, "Alright" is a "turn it up louder when it comes on the radio" song and not a "seek it out on my own time" song.

The title track of the album is the last album track to leave this rankdown! Another song that was a missed opportunity for radio... Other than the #12 from gardyfan , everyone put this at #6 or higher which is pretty remarkable for an album track! Only 1 point separates this from the next song to go!

I was a bit surprised that this managed to squeak its way to a #3 finish! I always remembered the general consensus on "History in the Making" being that it wasn't as good as the other singles and that there were better options to release to radio (which, while I really enjoy the song, I have to agree with considering its low Hot 100 peak). Anyway, taylor and 🌺CountryLineDancer lose a #1.

Glad to see "Alright" only made it to #5 here! I honestly expected it to do better since it over-performed in the singles RD. The song is absolute flaming dogshit imo.

Sorry for the delay! "It Won't Be Like This For Long" put up a good fight, but it was no much for the #1! The second single from Learn to Live, it was another big hit for Darius and cemented him in the country world. I've heard some people call it a discount "You're Gonna Miss This," but I vastly prefer Darius over Trace Adkins anyway

The lead single from Learn to Live and the song that jumpstarted his country career is our #1! All I can say is that "Don't..." deserved all its success. It's one of my favorite songs of the 2000s. There was no contest for #1.

Glad I'm not the only one who dislikes this song. I've never been able to enjoy this one and the more I hear it the more I dislike it. Plus when I worked at Toys-R-Us they liked to play this song ad-nauseum and that only helped make me dislike this more. If I don't hear this song again for the rest of my life I'll probably still hate it and have it stuck in my head periodically. Easily the most annoying thing I've heard from him

Easily the most annoying thing I've heard from him Happy we were in this together to stop it from getting any higher, lol. It (and "Come Back Song" -- tho a lesser extent) is really the only single of his that I flat-out just cannot stand, and I just despise it. The melody is so grating and obnoxious, and it was SO overplayed. I still can't get over the absolute ridiculousness of the line of having "shoes under his feet" either.

Well after tim adjusted the closeness stats for The Chicks' Gaslighter RD, THIS is the official first time I've ever topped the closeness chart! Framing that cause it will probably never happen again, lol Can't be upset with any outcome of the three singles in the Top 3, as they're all iconic. HITM just happens to stand out for me a little more. That melody is incredible, and something about it feels timeless. Thanks for hosting lady𝓐fan

True Believers (2013)
Sorry for the delay! Continuing on with this album series, we're skipping Charleston, SC 1966 for now and moving to Darius Rucker's second-biggest album– True Believers. Propelled by the massive hit "Wagon Wheel", True Believers is certified Platinum by the RIAA. The album also contains moderate hits such as the title track and "Radio", as well as an unfortunate flop: "Miss You". This was an era of highs and lows for Darius – his biggest hit by far (which is nearly Diamond-certified) and his lowest-peaking single to date (the aforementioned "Miss You"). Personally, True Believers holds a lot of nostalgia for me and I think it's quite underrated. I know that there are a bunch of huge rankdowns going on right now, so I'm setting the due date for this pretty far out to compensate for that. Also, I decided not to include the live version of "Only Wanna Be With You" from the deluxe edition of the album (since it's a Hootie song, lol). Happy listening! :) Tracklist1. True Believers 2. Miss You 3. Wagon Wheel 4. Love Without You (feat. Sheryl Crow) 5. Radio 6. Lost In You 7. I Will Love You Still (feat. Mallary Hope) 8. Take Me Home 9. Shine 10. Heartbreak Road 11. Leavin' the Light On 12. Lie to Me 13. Your Cheatin' Heart 14. One Tequila Due: Friday, March 4th
