The real issue I took with you singling out Mickey is well why her? She’s nominated which is usually who they get to perform more often than not. Why not cut Blake’s performance for Kelsea? Blake is a little bit bigger star than Mickey. There’s not many people who get to perform on all the award shows who only has one top 20 hit. Or none at all.

Gabby Barrett went home empty handed I just know she’s mad 😂 I highly doubt she’s mad. She’s probably happy for her the others that won. One thing about this genre is the artist support one another. Besides she won many awards this year. She just gives off pissed off vibes to me. I mean she does every right to mad since she went into the show as the most nominated female & the front runner for New Artist & ended up losing.

Colour me shocked that the only way for females to get recognized at an event, is to win the female category. Maybe they should grow penises.

I know people are gonna be mad that Carrie Underwood lost but I do think Luke Combs was a very deserving artist as he was an artist who was really everywhere and is just so popular. Can't be mad.

If this was voted on by the audience, Carrie would have definitely won. Either way, congrats Luke.

Luke Combs was deserving. He’s a good guy. I’m still bummed how any fan would be though. It’s not his fault the CMAs have fumbled the bag with Carrie over the past however many years.

The issue is almost never that the artist who wins isn't deserving, it's that there are women who are also deserving yet rarely win. In other words, had Carrie won you could literally make your same post but reverse the names. But you never get to make that post.

Stapleton is now going to enter the “when will he finally win EOTY?” chat after this year’s loss.

I understand the issue but it feels like often times in arguing for someone to win an award the case is a decent chunk against the artist. All the artists are deserving and I hope fans of Carrie Underwood aren't angry at Luke Combs for winning.

Luke Combs will win EOTY for years after provided that he does not have "off" year (and he doesn't like to have one any time soon).

Ugh over it! But I will say Luke and Chris would have been the only two I accept. You know Carrie has a massive plan ready for 2022. Y’all better get ready! She is gonna come for all of our necks!

I can’t believe after all these years neither Carrie or Miranda have won this. They’re two of the most consistent and high profile artists in country, particularly Carrie. How can Carrie win three times at the ACMs and go 0-4 at the CMAs? I have to imagine the voting body is similar?… I hope Carrie remains competitive enough to make a win possible after all, but 16 years in and 13 since her first headline tour, it just feels like the clock is running out. 2019 definitely humbled my ambitions of Carrie ever winning EOTY, but I still have a little hope that it could happen, especially if she keeps earning nominations. You don’t make the category three years in a row by accident.
And the fans in the house definitely wanted Carrie, they always do. They cheered loudest by far.
She deserves her moment and I hope one day it comes!

And now Chris Stapleton's Cold is the highest song performed in the show on iTunes (#3 overall).

I Just saw Luke combs in concert so I’m really happy he won. In my opinion Carrie should have won it the year when Garth brooks won it. All the signs were pointing to her. I think it’s funny that Kelsea in the eyes of the voters wasn’t good enough for a female nod but walked away with more awards than the ones nominated in that category.

She seems like a sweet down to earth good Christian lady to me. I could be totally wrong but I have a feeling she’s happy for the winners. Things like Gold and platinum singles and records as well as radio hits. To me are bigger awards then anything on these award shows. That’s why I only watch for the performances.

I was speaking more for the internet as a whole as I have already seen people solely complain about Carrie saying she was robbed and that Luke Combs is undeserving of it. Maybe not here, but I saw that already on Twitter.

She deserves her moment and I hope one day it comes! Since 1987, EOY winners: Men: 31 Women: 4 While it's disappointing Carrie and Miranda have never won it, there is a lot more to the story. Shania, in all her dominating years won it once. Reba, who was a HUGE star, didn't win it once in the 90s. Faith hill, never won it. Miranda, Carrie. It's a sad state of affairs. And I know people are pissed Carrie didn't win, but she has all the cards stacked against her. You just can't win as a female unless you literally break record after record (Shania, The Chicks, and Taylor).

How the heck did the CMA’s not get Walker Hayes to perform? I’m kinda shocked that they wouldn’t get him on when he has the most popular “Country” song since Cruise. Someone dropped the ball.

They were afraid viewers would think it was the Applebee's commercial and they'd change the channel and forget to come back.

I FFed through most of the show. So happy for Carly Pearce! Her and McBryde's performance together was great, too. Jimmie Allen, Dan + Shay, Guyton, and the "I Was On a Boat That Day" guy were the other highlights for me. Even though the fanfare for Stapleton makes me roll my eyes when I compare it to how Musgraves has been treated by them, I was grateful he blocked Wallen.
Carrie Underwood looked as if she's finally accepted and braced herself for the fact that they will never give the EotY award to her no matter what she does and won't let the hope for it hurt her anymore, good for her. I honestly thought they'd give it to Lambert ever since the nominations came out just to twist the knife.

If ABC was smart they could have worked his performance as a sponsorship with Applebees kinda like they do with Chevy and Crown Royal.

That Chevy moment that they gave to that teen was an incredible moment.
