Which album had bigger hot 100 hits? I made this video on youtube and I'm getting lots of heated comments. The songs some people disagree with are CG vs JD and LFN vs BR. I do feel that both songs became iconic songs for Gaga and will be more memorable in the longrun, but just looking at their performance on the hot 100: California Gurls #1 (6 weeks) Top 5 (14 weeks) Top 10 (17 weeks) Just Dance #1 (3 weeks)Top 5 (12 weeks) Top 10 (19 weeks) and Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.) #1 (2 weeks)Top 5 (11 weeks) Top 10 (12 weeks) Bad Romance #2Top 5 (15 weeks) Top 10 (17 weeks) Katy Perry peaked higher, Gaga's songs had more longevity on the hot 100. I first look at the songs peak, and how many weeks they had at #1. I then look to see how long they spent in the top 3, top 5 and top 10. Lastly I look at the longevity of the song. Did I make the right calls? Or were JD and BR bigger hot 100 hits?

Nah, you made the right calls. BD and JD were hot at the time and so was Katy's songs but the difference is longevity and that makes sense. Katy's songs were hot for the MOMENT...and Lady Gaga's songs were hot for the moment and years down the line,, her songs still get used more often than Katy's. So it makes sense. Not to diminish Katy because she was bigger at that time, but Lady Gaga seems to have outlasted.

What album had the bigger Hot 100 hits? Teenage Dream, easily. There's really no contest.
But given time, a song's impact and legacy slowly continues to shape and it's no contest either that The Fame, for the most part, has outdone Teenage Dream in that regard.

Teenage Dream is a great pop record. The title track is one of the best pop songs of all time imo. "Firework" is a classic. It was the bigger deal chart-wise.
But The Fame, particularly if Monster is added, has had a bigger impact on culture.

I might say "Bad Romance" was a bigger Hot 100 hit than "Last Friday Night." Of course, LFN gets an extra jolt for being the song to tie Michael Jackson's record, but other than getting one (very important) spot higher, BR was stronger in the top 5 and 10. Even further, BR spent more time in the top 2 and 3 than LFN.
CG vs. JD is correct though.
And yes, to echo everyone here, Teenage Dream was absolutely the bigger singles-album, though the impact of The Fame (Monster) wins out years later. Not to mention it was way bigger on the Billboard 200, even at the time.
