Chase Bryant's debut album, Upbringing, came out a few days ago. He played the radio game a few years back with two top 10 hits in "Take It on Back" and "Little Bit of You." Despite both making the top 10, his music didn't move the needle in a big way and Red Bow never put out an album. After a few failed single attempts, he disappeared for awhile, only to resurface recently with a story about how he attempted suicide by pulling the trigger to his temple, but the chamber was one bullet shy of a full load and it saved his life. He took a new lease on life in the wake of that experience and finally was able to release a full-length record on his own terms independently.

This album doesn't address that suicide attempt as he said he doesn't want to sing about that every night. Understandably so, just thought it would be more interesting if it has. This album also is another rock album at heart, just like some artists' works. The good thing is most songs are musically serviceable, even though some lyrics are on meh side. Plus his voice is more bearable than most of other newer male country artists. He is still young, I think he is marketable.

"High, Drunk, and Heartbroke" sounds so good.
