Omg this is getting SO funny to watch. A fan base single handedly blocking acts who usually have no problem getting a #1 (itโs Lil Nasโ turn now). But the real problem is that their fans think this is regular and celebrate acting like the whole country is listening to the song. Lmao.

The first time ever that the โlongest #1 of the yearโ will be a song that 95%+ of the public doesnโt recognize?

www.billboard.com/articles/news/9609037/bts-butter-number-one-hot-100-ninth-week/?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=socialBTS' 'Butter' Tops Billboard Hot 100 for 9th Week, Lil Nas X & Jack Harlow's 'Industry Baby' Debuts at No. 2By Gary Trust 8/2/2021 "Butter" is the longest-leading hit of 2021, besting the rule of Olivia Rodrigo's "Drivers License." BTS' "Butter" spends a ninth week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart. It now boasts the longest command of 2021 outright, passing the eight-week reign of Olivia Rodrigo's "Drivers License" in January-March. Plus, Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow launch at No. 2 on the Hot 100 with "Industry Baby," which arrives as the week's most-streamed song. The Hot 100 blends all-genre U.S. streaming (official audio and official video), radio airplay and sales data. All charts (dated Aug. 7) will update on Billboard.com tomorrow (Aug. 3). For all chart news, you can follow billboard and billboardcharts on both Twitter and Instagram. "Butter," released on HYBE/BigHit Music/Columbia Records, drew 30.5 million radio airplay audience impressions (down 1%) and 8.1 million U.S. streams (down 8%) in the week ending July 29, according to MRC Data. The single holds at No. 21 on the Radio Songs chart and drops 40-44 on Streaming Songs. "Butter" also sold 112,900 in the tracking week (down 2%), and tallies a ninth week atop Digital Song Sales. Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow bound onto the Hot 100 at No. 2 with "Industry Baby," which, following its July 23 release, opens with 40.6 million streams, 2.9 million in radio audience and 10,900 sold. The celebratory anthem starts at No. 1 on Streaming Songs and No. 6 on Digital Song Sales. Lil Nas X lands his fourth Hot 100 top 10. His debut smash "Old Town Road," featuring Billy Ray Cyrus, spent a record 19 weeks at No. 1 in April-August 2019 and "Montero (Call Me by Your Name)" led for a week upon its entrance this April. In between, he sandwiched the No. 5-peaking "Panini" in September 2019. Harlow adds his second Hot 100 top 10, and ties his best career rank, after his breakthrough hit "Whats Poppin," featuring DaBaby, Tory Lanez and Lil Wayne, reached No. 2 in July 2020. Notably, Kanye West is one of the producers of "Industry Baby." He achieves his 22nd Hot 100 top 10 as a producer, and reaches the region in a third distinct decade, after 14 top 10s in the 2000s and seven in the '10s. He first hit the Hot 100's top 10 as a producer via Jay-Z's "Izzo (H.O.V.A.)" (No. 8, 2001) and had most recently ranked in the tier with his own "Follow God" (No. 7, 2019). Lil Nas X notches his third Streaming Songs No. 1, after "Old Town Road" (for a record 20 weeks) and "Montero" (two). Harlow leads the list for the first time. "Industry Baby" also soars in at No. 1 on the multi-metric Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Hot Rap Songs charts, which use the same methodology as the Hot 100. Lil Nas X posts his second Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs leader, after "Old Town Road" (a record 20 weeks on top), while Harlow scores his first. Likewise, Lil Nas X collects his second Hot Rap Songs No. 1, following "Old Town Road" (also a record 20-week leader) and Harlow earns his first. Olivia Rodrigo's "Good 4 U," which topped the Hot 100 in its debut week debut week in May, retreats 2-3 and The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber's "Stay" holds at No. 4, two weeks after it bowed at No. 3. "Stay" claims dual top Airplay and Sales Gainer honors, up 25% to 27.6 million in radio reach and 11% to 8,500 sold. Dua Lipa's "Levitating," featuring DaBaby, slips 3-5 on the Hot 100, after reaching No. 2, as it logs a sixth week at No. 1 on Radio Songs (80.4 million audience impressions, down 1%). (Following DaBaby's controversial comments July 25 at the Rolling Loud festival in Miami, radio airplay for the song's DaBaby version has declined. On July 25, 71% of its plays was via the remix; on July 29, the last day of the tracking week, the share dropped to 59%. Lipa has denounced DaBaby's statements.) Rounding out the Hot 100's top 10, Doja Cat's "Kiss Me More," featuring SZA, descends 5-6, after hitting No. 3; Ed Sheeran's "Bad Habits" backtracks 6-7, after it debuted at its No. 5 high; Lil Nas X's "Montero" holds at No. 8; BTS' "Permission to Dance" dips 7-9, two weeks after it blasted in at No. 1; and Olivia Rodrigo's "Deja Vu" drops 9-10, after reaching No. 3. Meanwhile, on the Pop Airplay chart, Rodrigo's "Good 4 U" leads for a third week and "Deja Vu" rises 3-2 for a new high. Rodrigo becomes the seventh act to have monopolized the radio ranking's top two simultaneously since the chart began in 1992, joining Ariana Grande (for a week this February); Halsey (three weeks, 2019); Iggy Azalea (three, 2014); Pharrell Williams (two, 2013); OutKast (two, 2004); and Mariah Carey (one, 1995). Of those, Rodrigo is the first to earn the honor with no other accompanying acts and with both songs bulleted (aka, gaining in weekly plays) and at their peak positions. Again, for all chart news, you can follow billboard and billboardcharts on both Twitter and Instagram and all charts (dated Aug. 7), including the Hot 100 in its entirety, will refresh on Billboard.com tomorrow (Aug. 3).

I figured out the only way to beat BTS is to use website sales. Travis Scott did this with Franchise last October to deny Dynamite a 4th week at #1.

And now we see if the army is actually sticking to their word and starts to accumulate funds for their next single instead or if theyโre just gonna keep going with this
Also worth noting that if Butter and PTD werenโt in this picture this would be Good 4 Uโs first week NOT at #1

this would be Good 4 Uโs first week NOT at #1 it is! I have decided to be as delusional as the BoTS Army now. this year's longest-running No. 1 is "good 4 u," just got dethroned by "Industry Baby." songs no one knows or cares to stream should not be No. 1.

Hopefully this is it - the Army Connect people are acting like they want it to stay in the top ten til their next single, rather than pushing for number one. Then again, there were people saying they wanted twelve weeks (to beat The Box for longest running number one of the 20s), but they seemed to think that'd be done by repeaking when the album comes out.
Can not believe these guys determined the number one for the past two and a half months. A mess.

Held back the charts for 2 entire days over Levitating having 3k sales that were phony but allow this on a weekly basis publicly with no issueโฆ
Youโd think HITS would at least call them out on it since they love an opportunity to point out Billboardโs incompetence but itโs sad that even the entire industry including them would rather just get clicks from their stans.
847 sets X 24 โsalesโ per set = 20,328 fake โsalesโ in a week from 1 source.

By the way, in light of this mess, I decided to make a personal formula. (It's just the hot 100 with sales / 2). IIRC another used it last winter in light of 2020's mass buying. The changes are
- "Up" loses its week at number one to "Drivers License" (1-> 0, 8-> 9)
- "Leave the Door Open" loses its first week at number one to "Montero (Call Me By Your Name)" (2 -> 1, 1 -> 2)
- "Butter" loses its first eight weeks and "Permission to Dance" loses its week to "good 4 u", and "Butter" last week to "Industry Baby" (9 -> 0, 1 -> 0, 1 -> 10, 0 -> 1)
Sucks for Up (it and Calling My Phone's first weeks just missed) and LTDO, but overall I think the shifts are accurate.

Week 1: Wow! This is historic! A Korean act is at #1 on the hot 100!
Week 10: Wow! This is historic! A Korean act is at #1 on the hot 100! And that Korean act will ALWAYS be at #1 on the hot 100. Forever. You have no say in the matter. Bow down to your dairy gods.

If Love Yourself proved anything in 2016 it was that a two week number one can still be the overall best performing song of the year in a year with multiple 9+ week #1s so I can't wait to see bts fans pissed when butter isn't the year end #1.

This is a joke. By this point, Billboard is going to let the BOTS manipulate the charts for all of eternity.

I'm still suspecting that Billboard is gonna adjust their sales rules once BTS's runs at #1 end to avoid shit from their fans, the problem is they are Not Ending
