he's so overexposed .. good luck with his new music Do you always gotta be so negative? Well, I do think it's probably too soon, when he still has two singles from his last album in the top 15.
Yeah, and as far as that Dababy sh*t, how can he not be cancelled now?

It's not like Butter has the #1 only on sales alone. Their hanging on Airplay and having some Streaming is what is pushing them over the edge. Their 115,600 to Olivia's 7,100 sales difference is WAY BIGGER than the 24.4 million streaming Olivia has over BTS' 8.8 million.
And I'm not even a BTS stan. In fact by this point I'm sick of Butter at the top, I love a fast turnover rate at #1 and Butter has overstayed their welcome by a lot.
As I said above, Sheeran and Laroi/Bieber with very, very, very ear candy singles should have been able to dethrone BTS.

Assuming popularity is measured by the amount of people reached by a song... the streaming difference more than makes up for the difference in copies. And that's assuming that every copy was from a different person. Add in the airplay gap... and Billboard knows it. Their own SPS chart doesn't give sales nearly as much weight as the Hot 100 does. G4U and "Stay" have topped that SPS chart instead.

Negativity and trolling any other artist that's been performing better than Chris Brown these last few years is their way of life.

Tbh Abel isn't even that overexposed. His Super Bowl show was more or less a nonevent. I have seen the Ariana SYT performance way more on social media. Aside from that... he has only dropped one single this year. Yeah it's a #1 but I don't think it was huge enough to hurt whatever is coming next. The Doja song is doing fine but he is a glorified cameo on it.
And Blinding Lights is a cultural moment that is gonna be remembered for years regardless of whether or not it moves to recurrentland. If he has to wait before it dies for another single he's gonna be waiting for a while.
He also had the Grammy snub controversy but he came out of that quite well.
More importantly there is not this huge craze about his life outside of music, like say, Ariana during sweetener and tu,n. So most people don't even read that much about him.

Sales being 16x bigger, compared to <3x for streams, doesn't mean much when you convert it to equivalent sales. It's like saying something with 1,000 copies sold compared to 1 copy sold deserves a spot when the former has 1 million streams and the latter 5 million. 15.6 million streams is equal to 104,000 "equivalent" sales using /150. The difference ends up being 4,500 copies in reality. Olivia's 40 million airplay gap makes up that difference quite easily.

I mean ask your friends if they know the chorus of Butter. And then ask them to sing literally any part of Good 4 U. That's all ya need to know lol. Yeah they've been "beating ass" because their stans are literally a cult πͺ. Not Olivia's fault her fans didn't collect money internationally to prop up her position on billboard and instead they just.... Streamed it like normal people do in 2021; How could they?

BTS has beaten Olivia's ass on that respect. first of all, the point difference isn't massive between the two of them. it's literally always been close. they are not "beating her ass" on anything. they barely slip by with mass buying sale points as a result of a flawed system.

I don't actually know the answer to that question, but given streaming for 'Butter' is so meh (even given the ARMY's best efforts) it'd be low. Also factor in the largely negative callout at radio, and America at large just does not care about 'Butter' at all. At this point it is being kept propped up almost entirely by the ARMY. Nobody else is checking for that song. Try telling them that though...

Have you checked the HDD revenue chart all these weeks? Good 4 U have been #1 all these weeks over Butter and Stay was #1 last week over Permission to fraud, even with all those website sales included

Can we all finally agree that the BoTS are the worst stanbase of all time? Iβd argue that the Barbz were worse at their peak last year in terms of sheer toxicity, but ever since Billboard changed their rules on bundles, theyβve been much quieter. I think something similar could happen to Army if Billboard makes the right rule change at the right time.

Once their multiple sales are taken away from them they'll have to try to cope as best as they are able.

Idol was released when they couldnβt manipulate the charts so that was easily forgotten in the US, but if they released a collab now, the entire music industry would probably go into the great depression and twitterβs servers would probably abominate the entire social media scene.

What? So theyβre not supposed to promote their other artists now? The army can go take a flying leap. It's becoming to look like Barbz energy where Barbz attack anyone who collabs with Cardi, even Doja

I know Olivia Rodrigo is mixed race, therefore counts as a poc, but I'm sorry, it's just not the same as Ferry Wap. In Europe someone called Rodrigo is usually fully white and Portuguese, Spanish or Italian, all the guys called Rodrigo that I know are white. And even for people who have seen her music videos, they may wonder, but she still looks mostly white and in this day and age with celebrities like Ariana Grande and Kim Kardashian (she's Armenian I guess, but still), people will assume she's white. Olivia Rodrigo benefits from white privilege (sure maybe not as much as someone like Dua Lipa or Taylor Swift, but still, she benefits and we, and she, ought to recognise that privilege that she has other many of her competitors) and if she had the same ethnic background as Fetty Wap she wouldn't be so successful, especially in Europe. It's actually insulting to compare them in my opinion. Remember, people like Camila Cabello, Shakira and Selena Gomez might technically be poc too because they have some Native American ancestry, but basically they are "white" and are generally seen and treated as such. I think even Iggy Azalea said she's got Aboriginal Australian ancestry... Doesn't mean anything if the amount is so small. Interesting points and I do mostly agree with the fact that Olivia does have some sort of white privilege having grown up in the U.S. but I have one every important thing to clarify: Rodrigo is a Filipino name. Nearly more than 75% of Filipino names are Spanish because literally the concept of last names were forced upon us by Spanish colonizers so that it would be easier to manage taxes. Even then, going by last names as an indication of the "level of poc" is pretty ignorant. Names don't determine race.

How ironic that they're claiming this when they were so supportive of Lil Nas X just 2 years ago after RM hopped on a remix of Old Town Road that kept the song at #1. All of a sudden now you don't want Columbia to give him any attention? WTF?!

Olivia leads on literally EVERYTHING (iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify, Radio, etc.) but BTS is only #1 because of people buying 24 copies of the song on their website. We can tell that it's due to the website sales, as they dropped from #1 to #7 last week when the focus wasn't solely on mass buying Butter. Give it up, because you are wrong everytime you post.

When it was them jumping on an OTR it was fine because LNX wasn't competition. Now that he's competition they need him to die in a fire so they can continue to 'win'. And look, I loathe that troll but he is infinitely more *actually* popular among Americans than BTS.
