I assume this confirms Make it past Georgia is the first single from Ashland crafts debut album out September 3rd! Really solid song hoping this can be a hit.

Thankfully Kanenrá:ke fixed it the title of the thread! I actually really love this! Lyrically and musically this sounds like something out of the mid-200s and I love the fiddle throughout. The first time I listened to this though, I wasn't paying close attention to the lyrics because I loved the melody and instrumentation so much but the in the chorus I was confused because I thought she was going on a roadtrip and I was wondering how she made it to the Carolinas if she couldn't make it past Georgia The 2nd time I understood that she was referring to ex's as cities/states and "Georgia" is the one she can't seem to get over. Very excited about this album if this song is any indication of what else to expect! She's got a unique voice too, which I love!

I thought you didn’t know much older music!! 😋 Also this is really great, they better try her at radio. I get there’s more ways to have a career these days but she feels like she could hit big.

This is absolutely fantastic! The more I listen to this, the more I fall in love with. Her voice reminds me of a bit more polished version of Crystal Shawanda, where the grit/raspiness is there, but it's kinda subdued and not overbearing. Really digging the uniqueness to her vocals, and the way this song is produced is a great balance between being radio friendly while still sounding decidedly country in the instrumentation (all those fiddle inflections are gorgeous). The lyrical hook of the song is catchy and creative too. Love the thought of her being able to fly across all these southern states, but when she gets to Georgia, things fall apart (except she's actually more so referring to a past relationship). It's the kind of clever double entendre that country music thrives on that I always have gravitated towards. Love this and am hoping they try to push this to radio because I would love to see this become a hit! Yes, but she's actually kinda charting out a path from Texas to the Carolinas and she's saying that she can't quite make it all the way because she can't 'make it past Georgia,' so she does reference the Carolinas, but only to say that she doesn't get there. You probably figured that out with further listens tho, lol.

I’m bumping this up with this reply from Ashland herself. I asked her if there will be a radio single. And she has confirmed that there will be. Good chance that this is her debut single although you’d think they push a song up the charts before releasing a album. I guess the label taking a different path Album then single.

Gorgeous country song! Her voice is perfect on this. I was not expecting to enjoy this as much I did! She's definitely one to watch going forward...
