Plus it's already up to #34 on BB Country Airplay, only 1 spot shy of where "Lady Like" peaked. Should officially be her biggest radio hit since her debut within a couple weeks tops. So happy to see this one chugging along healthily. Happened faster than I thought. It's up to #31 thanks to a really strong audience gain this week. Next stop top 30! 10 adds this week is also going to be great for the song!

So glad this is doing well. I hope the radio treats this is as the next Sam Hunt single for a while, which will move it through the 20s and teens relatively quickly.

Ingrid has dropped the 2nd song from her upcoming sophomore album called “Seeing Someone Else” (still unclear if “Wishful Drinking” will make the album or not). I think this one will be a grower for me. I personally didn’t enjoy it as much as “Good Person”. m.youtube.com/watch?v=xWRPB5oGQzI

"Seeing Someone Else" is SENSATIONAL. The production is something that may be a bit polarizing, but the melody of that song is just money. Ingrid really knows how to deliver in that regard; her ear for melody is insane. It's just a bonus that she has a great voice and solid lyricism to put on top of said melodies. Can't wait for her next album.

“Seeing Someone Else” is phenomenal. What a well-written song with an incredible melody. “Good People” was alright, but SSE has me so excited for this next era. The lyrical twist is just so good. I need an album announcement soon, please!

"Wishful Drinking" should more than likely finish the week in the Top 30 on Mediabase this week. I would also expect it to reach the Top 30 on Billboard Country Airplay next week too.
I'm hoping it can be Top 25 on both charts by the time Ingrid starts tour with Keith in June!

Ingrid earns her 2nd Top 30 entry on Billboard Country Airplay this week with "Wishful Drinking" (also went Top 30 on Mediabase yesterday).
Currently has 7 more adds, so this is on track to be a pretty decent sized hit for her!

With how well this is connecting and the pace it is at I wouldn't be shocked if this became her biggest hit yet.

But yeah, I do think this has potential to be her biggest hit yet. 10 Mediabase & 13 Billboard adds this week, so hopefully it’ll continue to climb at a relatively fast pace before Sam drops his next solo single.

As “Wishful Drinking” moves up to #26 on Mediabase today with a bullet of +214, it looks like it’ll have a great shot at moving into the Top 25 this week (“Doin’ This” should also be going recurrent which will help). As long as it keeps having good updates, I really think it will be Top 25 on Mediabase by Sunday 🤩

Ingrid’s sophomore album is finished and people who were at her fan club event at CMA Fest got to listen to the entire project!
Here’s what a journalist had to say about a potential single called “Yearbook” which Shane McAnally helped co-write:
“Having taken a preview listen to the album, the track "Yearbook" (featuring the takeaway lyric that "the pages only turn one way," a favorite for both the artist and reporter) being the early lead for the likely radio single-to-watch.”

3rd promo single from Ingrid's upcoming sophomore album titled "Pain" will drop on Wednesday. Ingrid also sent out a text that she has another announcement this week which I assume is the album announcement. Very excited for this album personally. I love that Ingrid is exploring new sounds. I'm also curious if this is a visual album since every song released thus far will have had an accompanying video.

I have a feeling this era she might try to crossover a bit (in a Maren Morris way) with trying these new sounds and she just might. I’m here for it if she does as she always had this pop/HAC potential to me.

She's definitely got tons of crossover potential and I'm honestly surprised they haven't tried anything with her yet on other formats. It would be a good idea imo.

"Lady Like" charted Top 50 at Hot AC and I'm still bitter they didn't even attempt to push it there even if it wasn't going to be a big smash. Would've been nice to get her name more familiar with programmers and hopefully help set up potential crossover for "Wishful Drinking" at the format.

Such an odd choice to not have "Wishful Drinking" on the album since that's the current single.

Album titled Good Person out on August 26th! Obsessed with the cover art and loving how this era is very visual. My only complaint is "Wishful Drinking" not being on the album which from a numbers perspective is a terrible decision, but I respect Ingrid's decision as it's her art. "Wishful Drinking" should be close to peaking by the album's release, so I'm kind of hoping they send "Yearbook" (which is the rumored follow-up to "Wishful Drinking") as soon as possible while Ingrid still has momentum from "Wishful Drinking". My expectations for this album's commercial success aren't high, but given the lack of competition for the Grammy's, she definitely has a good shot at Best Country Album & Best Country Duo/Group nod. Hoping this album will be another critically acclaimed project!

Such an odd choice to not have "Wishful Drinking" on the album since that's the current single. In a CMT interview she said wanted to let it have a life of its own and that it "isn't definitive of the music she's making". I still think there's a shot it'll be added as a bonus track though to boost streams. Update: on Apple Music, "Wishful Drinking" is listed as Track 13 so it was added as a bonus track!

Such an odd choice to not have "Wishful Drinking" on the album since that's the current single. Wishful Drinking is a bonus track on download and streaming version of the album, according to Apple Music. Therefore, the stats for this song can be used to certify the album.

Wild to me that they are making Wishful Drinking a bonus track on the digital versions only. Especially when it most likely will be her biggest hit.

Wild to me that they are making Wishful Drinking a bonus track on the digital versions only. Especially when it most likely will be her biggest hit. Ingrid wanted it to have a life of its own and separate it from the album because the album tells a story through the songs and I’m assuming “Wishful Drinking” didn’t exactly fit the storyline. The more I think about it, “Wishful Drinking” seems like it was more of a buzz single and to help Ingrid regain some momentum before she launched this project. I think it was a pretty smart choice in the end especially when it’ll be near its peak at radio when the album drops, so number wise it’ll help her maybe match or outdebut “Lady Like”.

I don't care what artistic integrity angle Ingrid is going for here, because "Wishful Drinking" not being properly attached to the album is such a dumb move any way you slice it. The fact that it got tacked on as a bonus track for digital/streaming purposes proves it, too. If she were really committed to treating it like a buzz single that didn't belong on the record, then it shouldn't even be a bonus track on the 2 ways that people will most likely consume the record anyway. The fact of the matter is that "Drinking" is well on track to be a big hit for her, most likely bigger than her debut single, and won't peak until this fall at the rate its going, so why would it make sense to 1) drop an album with no current radio hit taken from its tracklisting and 2) deliberately exclude what will probably be her biggest hit. It's all moot anyway since it's going to be on the album is some capacity (as it should be) and therefore contribute to boosting her numbers for the record, but it's a needlessly self-sabotaging idea to treat a huge smash as a 'buzz single.' A 'buzz single' is more like when an artists drops a pre-release track and maybe promotes it on a few television shows or drops a music video for it, but it never officially goes to radio. "Good Person" is a buzz single. Carrie's "Crazy Angels." Miranda Lambert's "Actin' Up." etc. Anyway, enough of that tangent... I am very excited for her forthcoming album and I expect great things from Ingrid in the future and think that "Wishful Drinking" should set her up nicely to have some more success following it.

Based off the cover art it looks like she made the (dumb) decision to drop the single from the album in the same pool Maren decided to create her latest album of lullabies in.

And we saw how that worked out…an album full of blandness and mediocrity… Hopefully that won’t be the case with Ingrid but I do have to say I’m a bit irked that the physicals won’t have Wishful Drinking. I love physicals! It is genuinely a dumb decision but I’m not going to get into that since everyone else has covered it.

So far, I've enjoyed all of the promo singles from "Good Person" when I wasn't a big fan of the promo singles from "Humble Quest". Also, I don't know why everyone is being so hard on the album cover. It seems very Ingrid to me unlike Maren's which was definitely a step down from her previous project. Just my opinion though :)
