One of my favorites from Tony Toni Tone. This song was played on WGCI, B96, now-defunct 106 Jams, and later V103 when I was younger. B96 played the version without the DJ Quik rap during regular rotation hours. They also played a house remix during Lunchtime and 5pm Traffic Jam mixes and the weekend DJs often mixed the "Vission & Lorimer Euphoria" mix back in early 1997. Not fan of this and the reason is it was not produced by Raphael and co, The second single "Thinking" though is a classic TTT. I recently listened to top 20 urban songs chart from November 1988 and for my surprise started to like "Born Not To Know", another jam from them!

This song is has aged gracefully. In 1996-1997, 92.3 The Beat, Power 106 and KJLH in LA played this timeless Hip Hop/R&B classic. This was even featured on the 90’s Fox crime drama New York Undercover in January 1997.

It's wild how they copped the melody of "Smells Like Teen Spirit" for this one. I like the groove, but I wish it built to a massive release like "Teen Spirit" does. As it is, it's a nice listen that just sort of comes and goes.
