Disappointed that it wasn't higher. I need to spin it again and listen closely but I thought it had some great stuff on it upon first listen.
I feel like she doesn't get the credit she deserves. I wonder why?

Disappointed that it wasn't higher. I need to spin it again and listen closely but I thought it had some great stuff on it upon first listen. I feel like she doesn't get the credit she deserves. I wonder why? I wish it was higher as well. BB/ANG3L didn't chart at all and I think due to these releases being short, it decreases the chance of a solid chart debut. But getting the credit she deserves in which aspect? She's consistently touring, the music is quality and getting great reviews, her profile is being raised due to "Nasty" being a hit. Those are great things. But what do we as fans feel would be enough credit or success? Which metric can we fairly use? Is it chart success? Because a lot of artists aren't blowing up the charts, but are doing well in other areas. I get a bonafide success is when an artists excels in all of those areas, but I feel like it downplays what artists do accomplish when we focus on what they don't have or don't achieve. Tinashe does have a lot of fans, but she's not mainstream. Being an independent artist has it's upside and downside. What is missing in terms of getting more widespread support comes down to exposure, funding and a support team. I don't think #199 is going to stop her machine from moving, because she's moved forward from her past situation with a major to thriving in her own record label. Being #1 feels great, but that speaks to having all of the tools to compete on the business side side of things and while I do think she could benefit from better singles choices and endorsement deals, she's very content with where she's at and staying in her lane. She's been through a lot in the music industry and probably feels more grounded and liberated on this path, even if it's not producing the numbers that the system claim should be made to validate one's popularity. I understand anyone that feels disappointed. But it's not a reflection on Tinashe, her talent, the quality of Quantum Baby and I hope we continue to enjoy the music and support her work. Just a long winded thought. :)

I made a Should've Been Greatest Hits playlist. If her mixtapes were on Spotify, I'd include a couple of tracks from those. Probably Boss, Stargazing, and Vulnerable.

I was worried she had abandoned the plot of her being chased by drones until the end.

It really is such a great track and has only gotten better. It came on randomly the other day and it just hit me harder for some reason lol. Definitely deserved a Grammy nom/win but rarely do they ever get things right.
