I think if he doesnβt come through with this era, then heβs officially gone into the same category as Khalid, Bebe Rexha and Alessia Cara, and all those B listers from 2016-2019 as well. The bombing on Wonder is truly one of the biggest TRAINWRECKORDS of the modern era, up there with Man of the Woods and Witness Lmao Justin Timberlake opening his Superbowl Halftime Show performance with Filthy ages worse and worse every year. This is why you start with a hit and end with a hit. Promote the new single in the middle. Tried and true.

It was certified Gold but only last 19 weeks on the chart. Just as a showcase of how far for a drop it was in comparison to his last album, 20/20 Experience Part 2 went Platinum and was on the charts for 66 weeks

I don't care if Ed Sheeran doesn't change his sound but his ballads are always perfect. This song is so great.

I'm kinda glad he went with "equal" instead of "minus". The latter just feels like bad promo because of what the symbol represents.

Shawn Mendes would have to climb to the heights that JT reached before a Man of the Woods would be seen as a Trainwreckords rather than as a successful era. I do not think that is likely to happen.

Shawn Mendes would have to climb to the heights that JT reached before a Man of the Woods would be seen as a Trainwreckords rather than as a successful era. I do not think that is likely to happen. While the album and it's singles may not have matched the success of previous JT releases, the Man of the Woods tour was a huge success. It performed even better than the 20/20 Experience tour. While that tour pulled in $231M from 128 shows, the Man of the Woods tour pulled in $226M from 115 shows. Also, JT has seen a higher, more sustained peak of success and relevance than Shawn has (especially if Shawn never sees the success he saw with past singles/albums ever again). You really can't compare their careers. JT is 40 years old, saw massive success from when he was 16 years old as a member of NSYNC, broke out as a solo artist when he turned 21 and saw continued success deep into his 30s while Shawn Mendes may have peaked with the album that dropped when he was 19.

Im generally a solid fan of most of Ed's work barring the Collabs project which mostly sucked tbh, while some of his singles suck or are mediocre radio filler I do think he does make some solid album cuts.
I love most of +, half of x, and a solid portion of Γ· so hopefully I like =.

JB's new song tomorrow will also have Skrillex and Don Tolliver, while Shawn Mendes' will include Tainy.

It has such a sweet, simple beauty that is almost unbearable to listen to only for the deep melancholy it stirs. Also smart of him to label it only as "the next song" from the album, leaving it open as to whether it will be as single.

If you think Wonder is bad, how about Bebe Rexha's second album not even making the top 100. Wonder at least had some minor hits.

Well, for context, Bebe's solo career never reached the heights of success Shawn's career reached. Her biggest hit is Meant to Be, the others are features/guest appearances and her EPs/albums have never done well.

This is true, but at least her first album managed to go platinum thanks to the sales of Meant To Be. In the contemporary era, streaming is of vital importance because pure sales are so miniscule in most cases.

Does anyone remember No Broken Hearts? I feel like if Bebe continued on that style, she would have had more success.

I think reputation's commercial success will prevent it from being covered on TRAINWRECKORDS. Remember, the album cant just be badly received or be polarizing, its need to have killed the hit making career for the act.

reputation was the #1 album of 2018, it was by no means a massive flop and the final leg of taylor's career. critics disliking an album and it having mixed reception from the GP does not meet the qualifications a mi

Remember, the album cant just be badly received or be polarizing, its need to have killed the hit making career for the act. It obviously didn't kill Taylor's career outright (hitmaking or otherwise), but neither did Madonna's American Life or Cher's Two the Hard Way. I see it as more of a demarcation line that slowly shattered Taylor's "biggest pop star in the world" status, not helped by a particularly messy singles rollout. I still hope that Todd will get around to covering it eventually, but if I'm proven wrong, so be it. Also, thanks rihannabiggestfan for reminding me about the other 2010s Trainwreckord I completely forgot about (admittedly because I don't watch the Liz Phair one as often as the others).

I agree^. Especially since American Life and Cher were included, I'd say it's fair to include Reputation for this alone:
"All 3 singles of the Reputation era so far have joined the Top5 list of largest spin drops of all time in POP radio history.
Largest Negative Bullet In History List:
1. Look What You Made Me Do - Taylor Swift (-4986) 2. End Game - Taylor Swift ft. Ed Sheeran & Future (-4604) 5. ...Ready For It? - Taylor Swift (-4432)"

The Wonder era was so unbelievably bland that it almost killed Shawn's career.
