Olivia Rodrigo will return to #1 on next Friday’s HITS Top 50 for a fifth non-consecutive week. The vinyl release of SOUR (Geffen) will rocket the album to a projected 135-150k in total activity. Rod Wave’s deluxe release of Soulfly (Alamo/SME) will drive the now 35-track collection back into the Top 5 with 50-55k.
New Releases:
Trippie Redd (10K Projects) 65-70k activity, 2-4k albums
Lorde (Republic) 55-60k, 30-35k

Not terrible sales for Lorde considering the album's tepid reception, lack of anticipation after the lead single, and her forgoing CDs. She kneecapped herself in a lot of ways this era so I anticipated much worse.

Lorde is actually opening well. Anything over 50k is a win for this project.
Great for Olivia.

Not surprised by Trippie Redd's number. It is slightly higher than that for Pegasus.

That surprised me too, so I quickly looked through the list of number of number one albums and it looks right. The only female albums with 5 or more weeks at number one prior to 2011 are “Up!” by Shania Twain, “Feels Like Home” by Norah Jones, “Fearless” by Taylor Swift, and “I Dreamed A Dream” by Susan Boyle and none of them have number one hits. I didn’t see a ton of albums with five weeks at number one, so I’m guessing even if you looked at all albums, there wouldn’t be a ton more that had that many weeks at number one plus a number one hit.

^It seems so, unless the projection gets revised upward. Evermore had 102k vinyls sold the week those came out. Based on the current prediction, Sour would sell vinyls in the range from 78k to 93k this week.

Can someone explain how an album that isn't released (Donda) nor available for sale anywhere is already charting on Alpha Data's building album sales chart for this week lol alphadata.fm/charts/hits-album-chart/

TOP 20: OLIVIA'S NEEDLE DROP, LORDE'S POWER SURGE, MORE Olivia Rodrigo moves back into the #1 spot for her fifth non-consecutive week, as vinyl sales of SOUR (Geffen) are expected to top 80k. Lorde’s Solar Power will debut in the Top 5. Rod Wave, Tomorrow X Together and the late, great Aaliyah may all hit the Top 10 with their deluxe, physical and reissued versions, respectively. hitsdailydouble.com/news&id=327971&title=TOP-20%253A-OLIVIA%2527S-NEEDLE-DROP%252C-LORDE%2527S-POWER-SURGE%252C-MOREOMG Aaliyah! Praying she stays top 10, it would be great to have a peak accurately representing the success and era of this wonderful album! Pleased Lorde is top 3. Olivia's sales are huge!

I've never heard of them showing albums with nonexistent data on the AlphaData albums chart (sometimes they show songs mistakenly but those still have real figures behind them).

If DONDA isn’t released on Friday, that might provide an opening for Planet Her to finally get that #1.

^Not so sure. Halsey is releasing then. Although, the fact she hasn't released anything from it might work against her.

Olivia is doing well here, and I definitely think she has the top pop album of the year. Surprising staying power for a debut.

Aaliyah’s streaming seems underestimated.
Only 13K~ SEA units predicted, when she reached #3 on Apple Music and is currently still top 10. Moneybagg Yo’s album has 19K~ SEA units and is only #21 on Apple Music.
He also only has one song top 200 on Spotify at #167, so I don’t see how that’s making up difference.

So this will be a new peak for Aaliyah.
One in a Million garnered generally positive reviews from music critics. It debuted at number 20 on the US Billboard 200 chart, selling 180,000 copies in its first week, and later peaked at number 18.

Still, it was a time where an album sold over 40,000 units and only got to number 20 that week!

If DONDA isn’t released on Friday, that might provide an opening for Planet Her to finally get that #1. Doja has more chances to go #1 on the week of VMAS.. she can release physical copies by then and her medley performance on vmas will definitely help

Baby Yoda Hot100Fan I just wanted to let you know that Halsey goes by She/They pronouns instead of She/Her, So just make sure that for now on when you are talking about Halsey you talk about they using those Pronouns.
