Billboard refuses to put a lid on their corruption. This is hardly an example of corruption. HDD underestimated Billie's pure sales by 5k and 4k the last two weeks, it was inevitable they were gonna screw up again, and during a tight week like this one that can be very impactful. It's too bad that Doja got blocked but she will continue to do well regardless. |

Jennifer Hudson’s soundtrack to the film Respect debuts at No. 6 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart (dated Aug. 28), marking the fourth top 10 on the list for the singer-actress – the entirety of her charting efforts. Respect is the companion album to the movie of the same name in which Hudson portrays Aretha Franklin.
The album bows with 7,000 copies sold in the U.S. in the week ending Aug. 20, according to MRC Data.
The set contains mostly covers of Franklin favorites but also includes one new song written for the film, “Here I Am (Singing My Way Home),” written by Jamie Harton, Hudson, Carole King. The track also climbs 24-21, a new peak, on the Adult R&B Airplay chart dated Aug. 28.
Respect additionally enters at No. 2 on Soundtracks, No. 17 on Top R&B Albums and No. 151 on the Billboard 200. Also on Top Album Sales: Billie Eilish’s Happier Than Ever holds at No. 1 for a third straight week (23,000 sold; down 35%). It becomes the first album with three weeks in a row at No. 1 since Taylor Swift’s Folklore spent its first five weeks atop the list (Aug. 8-Sept. 5, 2020-dated charts). Meanwhile, new albums from The Killers, Dan + Shay, Ben Platt, Luke Hemmings and $uicideboy$ debut in the top 10. Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart ranks the top-selling albums of the week based only on traditional album sales. The chart’s history dates back to May 25, 1991, the first week Billboard began tabulating charts with electronically monitored piece count information from SoundScan, now MRC Data. Pure album sales were the measurement solely utilized by the Billboard 200 albums chart through the list dated Dec. 6, 2014, after which that chart switched to a methodology that blends album sales with track equivalent album units and streaming equivalent album units. For all chart news, follow billboard and billboardcharts on both Twitter and Instagram. The Killers’ latest studio album, Pressure Machine, debuts at No. 2 on Top Album Sales with 22,000 copies sold. It’s the seventh top 10 for the band, and all seven of their studio albums have now reached the top 10.
Dan + Shay’s Good Things starts at No. 3 on Top Album Sales, matching the act’s peak on the list, first achieved with their self-titled 2018 set. The new studio effort bows with 12,000 copies sold.
George Harrison’s All Things Must Pass falls 2-4 with 8,000 sold (down 71%) and BTS’ compilation BTS, The Best, is stationary at No. 5 (just over 7,000 sold; down 58%).
As earlier noted, the Respect soundtrack debuts at No. 6 (7,000) while Olivia Rodrigo’s former No. 1 Sour rises 9-7 with just over 6,000 sold (down 7%).
Ben Platt lands his second top 10 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales new studio set Reverie debuts at No. 8 with 6,000 sold. It follows his 2019 debut effort, Sing To Me Instead, which debuted and peaked at No. 3.
Luke Hemmings’ debut solo album When Facing the Things We Turn Away From starts at No. 9 on Top Album Sales with nearly 6,000 copies sold. Rap duo $uicideboy$ round out the new top 10 with their new album Long Term Effects of Suffering, which bows at No. 10 with 6,000 sold.

It's too bad that Doja got blocked but she will continue to do well regardless. How was that user cheering when Butter was #1 due to actual manipulation but calling this corruption??? |

Because he has been foaming at the mouth with anger and hatred for Olivia since she broke out so his principles went out the window when she got blocked. |

So doja has 6 songs charting on streaming and on hot 100,billie only has one but just because billie sold 23k pure sales she's #1? Well done billboard!! A mess!!Doja deserved it...her album is more popular than Billie Eilish's album I agree, but part of the blame goes to Doja and her label for screwing up the marketing/promotion of Planet Her. This should have been an easy #1, but they blew it with a series of baffling decisions. |
