Barring a rush release of Kanye West’s Donda (G.O.O.D./Def Jam), Halsey will debut in the #1 spot with her Trent Reznor/Atticus Ross-produced If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power (Capitol).
Halsey (Capitol): 95-115k total activity, 70-85k albums
Lil Tecca (Galactic/Republic): 30-35k, 1-2k
OneRepublic (Mosley/Interscope): 21-24k, 16-19k
Now if you'll excuse us, we're going to binge-watch The Joy of Painting with Bob Ross until Donda or Certified Lover Boy arrives.

Very good numbers for Halsey considering there were no singles beforehand. That means between 70,000 and 85,000 people took a leap of faith and bought it without knowing if it would even be their thing or not.

Sucks for Halsey, second time in a row a surprise release blocks her. But good numbers anyway.

lol, for a second I thought you were talking about the Olivia song. I even checked the iTunes chart to see if Olivia’s deja vu had dark green updates and suddenly skyrocketed up there.

After one (partial) day, Kanye West’s Donda (G.O.O.D./Def Jam) is now trending at or above 300k for its first week. Given the album’s arrival on Sunday, typically the lowest streaming day of the week, there aren’t many, if any, models to project from. So call this one our best guess for now. Can Kanye beat J. Cole’s 308m first-week audio streams for the largest total of 2021 thus far? What will the lack of D2C/ticket bundles mean for his first release since their exclusion from the charts? We’ll likely be updating this one every day this week, so stay tuned. Donda is, as we noted previously, tearing it up at Spotify, Apple Music and other streaming platforms. The week's other big release, Halsey's Trent Reznor/Atticus Ross-produced If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power (Capitol), previously appeared a shoo-in for the top spot. Kanye West (G.O.O.D./Def Jam): 300k-300k+ Halsey (Capitol): 95-115k total activity, 70-85k albums Lil Tecca (Galactic/Republic): 30-35k, 1-2k OneRepublic (Mosley/Interscope): 21-24k, 16-19k hitsdailydouble.com/news&id=328056&title=NEW-RELEASES%3A-DONDA%2C-HALSEY%2C-MORE

So basically, they say 300k as a wild guess? Wouldn't be shocked if it trends down without bundles. But his last album opened to 264k with way less hype. We'll see.

I don't think the release date matters much here, for album track streams at least.

I’m still happy with Halsey’s numbers. They’re much better a number of releases this year, and I don’t recall a single from it…

The 60 million first day streams itself is not the record:
Kanye West's hotly anticipated — and much-delayed — album "Donda" was streamed more than 60 million times by Apple Music users in the U.S. following a debut on Sunday, a record for the service.
Citing sources familiar with the matter, Billboard reports "Donda" took the third spot on Apple Music's list of albums with the most streams after 24 hours of availability.
Topping Apple's all-time debut chart is J. Cole's 2018 effort "KOD," which raked in 64.5 million streams in its first 24 hours. Drake's "Views" is currently in second with about 63.5 million streams.
"Donda" set another record by summiting Apple Music's top albums charts in 152 countries over the 24-hour debut period. The performance propelled West to become Apple Music's most-streamed artist since the album was released on Sunday, with tracks accounting for 19 of the top 20 spots on the service's Daily Top 100 Global songs chart, the report says.
West's 10th studio record, "Donda" was supposedly slated for release in late July. The rapper reportedly pushed that date to Aug. 6, then again to Aug. 22, with the album finally showing up on Apple Music a week later. West claimed the album was released without his permission with one track — "Jail, Pt. 2" featuring Marilyn Manson and DaBaby — missing.
Amid the launch date confusion West held multiple listening parties at stadiums in Atlanta and Chicago to hype the album's release. Those events attracted tens of thousands of fans and respectively broke Apple Music live-streaming records.

Baby Yoda Hot100Fan that has to be wrong. Out of the 132M streams Scorpion pulled on Spotify global in it's first day, 81M were from the US. It did this on Apple Music global on it's first day. There's no way at least half of those streams didn't come from the US. That article is wonky. Donda did break the record for most #1s in several countries/regions on Apple Music but how does coming #3 on the list of albums with the most Apple Music US streams in 24 hours count as a record?

So basically, they say 300k as a wild guess? Wouldn't be shocked if it trends down without bundles. But his last album opened to 264k with way less hype. We'll see. That album managed 109K in pure sales thanks to bundles. www.nytimes.com/2019/11/04/arts/music/kanye-west-jesus-is-king-billboard.htmlAs far as I know, there are no bundles for Donda so pure sales will be significantly less. Donda has 27 tracks. Based on it's streaming activity so far, it should be able to manage 250K units, even with only 5 tracking days .

Long albums are setting up to be a common thing. Artists don’t have to worry about scrapping useless songs anymore… any old shoe will work.
