Also, regarding Candle in the Wind, we should also remember there was a live version that made it at #71 in 1986.

Once the 2021 Hot 100 Year-End is official, Dynamite will be a song title with two songs (one by BTS, the other by Taio Cruz) that aren't covers and both made back-to-back year-end Hot 100s.

It felt like there were more repeats for 2020 than I remember and you forgot All I Want for Christmas Is You for 2019 to 2020.

2019 to 2020 Only Human (#78 --> #77) It's annoying that by these standards Only Human is a 2020's song. I can't NOT associate that song with 2019

Finally got a time to update the list with the inclusion of the 2021 YE re-entries and the expected 2022 YE re-entries (only in the initial YE position) and here are some takeaways:
- In the Initial YE position, #10 now has company with the top spot itself because of both YE #1's of 2020 (Blinding Lights and Levitating) becoming re-entries - Olivia Rodrigo's "good 4 u" becomes the first re-entry to come from the #5 position, and thus the YE Top 10 now has at least one song that became a re-entry from that placement (#5 fulfilling a prophecy seems familiar, as that is the same number Taylor Swift needed a song to peak to get at least one song of hers to peak at all of the Top 10, which ended up being "Wildest Dreams") - "Smooth" and "Circles" time at the highest of the re-entry YE position may be ticking because of the possibility of "Heat Waves" becoming the first YE #1 to be a re-entry from the previous year (#16 from 2021)

1994 -> 1995 Madonna "Secret" (#84 -> #71) Included to the full list! And also, Madonna's "Secret" shares the same YE trajectory as Baby Bash f/ T-Pain and Mickaël Zibi's "Cyclone" in 2007 and 2008 (#84 --> #71)

I just mentioned this in the Canadian Hot 100 YE re-entry thread, but I would go to mention it here. So, "All I Want for Christmas is You" has a possibility on appearing in multiple YE, and it is right to distinguish the YE range for that song (e.g. AIWFCIY 2020-2021 is #67-->#78, then 2021-2022 is #78-->TBD)

Is 2021 the first year to have the entire top 5 as repeats?

^Yes, it will be. Not a surprise, since the songs ended up charting 77, 69, 90, 52 and 51 weeks in the Hot 100. Also, the year-end cutoffs ended lining up well for that to happen.

^Still, no year-end repeats with the same position as previous year yet. Three songs missed doing that by 2 positions this year.

Updated the arrangement of Final (Second) YE position to now include the 2022 Re-Entries:
- #3, #16, #18, #31, #35, and #80 now has three songs to re-enter in those placements because of the re-entries that managed to end up there - With the YE Top 2 of 2021 ending up at #40 ("Save Your Tears") and #42 ("Levitating"), both numbers now have 5 songs to re-enter in that number (it's worth noting that had "Save Your Tears" ended up in the predicted placement in #39, it would've given #39 its 6th re-entry placement and would be in 2nd) Speaking of the man behind "Save Your Tears"... - Doja Cat and The Weeknd's "You Right" missed out on two things: One is that the chance of repeating at the same spot as it was the first time (#43), and two is missed out on getting the 9th re-entry placement for #46 (and Doja doubling up on that spot, since "Need to Know" is last year's #46) - 2 numbers get their first song to re-enter in that place, being the top spot with "Heat Waves" and #60 with "Knife Talk"

Getting Year-End re-entries information from the 1990s and below will be a tough one that's for sure the year end charts are on Wikipedia. I mean is easily identifying the re-entries without manually scanning at the Wikipedia page, like YE videos at YouTube that tells which songs are re-entries and the placement they had before

updated the "Initial YE position" list with the inclusion of the 2022 YE re-entries (and now 2011 re-entry in "Sure Thing"), I'll include "Super Freaky Girl" and "WAIT FOR U" once they're guaranteed in their YE re-entry inclusion (as they're currently 50/50)
while the placements with the most songs in their initial YE position remains at both #1 and #10, there's a good chance that the former may take the sole lead as I think all of the three possible YE #1 contenders have a good likeliness to become a re-entry by the 2024 YE
