The daily record on US Spotify by 'drivers license' of 6,145,601 got beaten by 'Girls Want Girls' with 6,146,233.
632 streams difference.

Ugh, this is a record that should’ve been unbeatable for years to come. Also, the fact that this could wind up being Lil Baby’s first #1 instead of The Bigger Picture or even Wants and Needs is extremely disappointing to me. |

I never thought he would beat Scorpion’s numbers with this, especially considering he went into this with no hits at the moment and no prior hits on the album. Just crazy.
Yeah he’ll probably decrease relatively hard throughout the week but this is already a win. Over a decade of doing huge openings and he’s turning 35 - not really much you can criticize with this run.

Pulse 🤝 Setting unrealistic commercial expectations for Drake and only Drake and then acting unimpressed when he manages to meet them.
No other artist is even coming close to these numbers. This is a huge deal.
Scorpion held the first-day Spotify record for over 3 years and no one came close. CLB extends that record even further. Congratulations, Drake!

Also whatever first week opening HITS is initially projecting, just take 50-100k off of that. They literally overpredict every single Drake album lol.

Hollywood’s Bleeding did less opening streams than Beerbongs & Bentleys even with “Circles”, “Sunflower”, and “Wow” preceding the release. The fact CLB topped Scorpion with NO prior hits on the album or going into the album release makes it that much more insane. |

If he had pushed Fair trade instead of dat glg crap he'd made atleast a million more streams, it's high on sales & streams (even on yt) despite having 0-none playlisting. Dat clearly signifies it's resonating well with da audience

The big hit will probably be Way 2 Sexy (tiktok) or Fair Trade (general hip hop appeal) and those also happen to be among the not-entirely-terrible songs off the album so I'm fine with that

I've noticed that one of the major reasons people are disappointed with this album is because they can't find any clear hits.
Just listening to the album and the fact that he kept LNCL/Wants and Needs/What's Next off the album, common sense should suggest that he isn't shooting for hits with this album.
Halsey just did the same thing and the same Pulse members who defended and could understand her decision to release her album completely without a single beforehand can't fathom that with Drake. How predictable.
