Looks like they MAY be going away from this as they sent out a RadioTraks for him... Learn From It keeps getting adds, but is struggling to chart, which is surprising to me because the buzz seems to be there.
But BMLG just isn't getting it - because out of the four options, NONE of them were I Hate Alabama. I don't understand.
But anyway, the four options were College Town, Take It Slow, Didn't Go Too Far and Somewhere in a Small Town. To me, the last three all sound awesome - with the last two being the smashes. Didn't Go Too Far would be my pick.

I don't get why they wouldn't even consider it. "Learn from It" was a total dud but they could and should sweep it under the rug and move on at this point because there's nothing to gain from continuing to sink money into this one. "Didn't Go Too Far" and "Somewhere in a Small Town" sound like solid single options if they really do continue to bypass "Alabama" for whatever dumb reason, but I don't see either standing out in a big way for him and "Alabama" is literally RIGHT THERE.

I really enjoyed all 4 songs, though agree that "College Town" was easily the weakest. I think "Take It Slow" or "Didn't Go Too Far" would be the best choices for me. I actually liked all 4 of these more than "Learn From It". Definitely look forward to hearing more from him because I've liked everything so far

Well it does seem like the label is in it for the long haul for this one as it is up to #42 on Mediabase as of tonight soon entering the Top 40. I don't exactly love this song but I do think it still has potential to really catch on.

Hit the top 40 on BB this week finally. It's showing all the signs of being one of those low-impact songs that radio lets go all the way to #1 a year and a half after initially going for adds. 🥴

This is probably his worst single, but this guy has star written all over him. Seems like they're sticking with this so hoping to see it go far to help set him up for the future.

Conner commented under one of his recent TikTok's that "Take It Slow" is the new radio single, so I assume "Learn From It" will be done soon.
It's already on Hot Country on Spotify.

Explains why they sent a RadioTraks with both songs. Think it’s still a miss not to go with I Hate Alabama. But Conner has Star written all over him so hopefully that becomes a radio hit

He has at least 3 songs that sound to me like homerun smashes: "I Hate Alabama," "Somewhere in a Small Town," and "Why I Can't Leave." ...and yet they once again are looking to pass over the obvious choices to go with another bum option? "Take It Slow" is meh. I like it even less than "Learn from It," which was already pedestrian enough. I just can't imagine that one doing anything that "Learn" didn't. I agree with bigfan101 that he's got star written all over him, but they're so far bent on promoting him with songs that show none of the star qualities that he brings to the table.

“Take It Slow” is the safe and unassuming single choice. That’s disappointing.
“I Hate Alabama” has the best melody out of all his songs and will resonate more, even if it (wrongly) alienates some Alabama Crimson Tide fans. I don’t even think it’s close, it’s the best song on the EP.

Agreed across the board (Didn’t Go To Far also sounds hit worthy to me along with the ones you’ve already mentioned). I played his EP back this morning after this discussion and noticed Take It Slow is his number one song currently. Maybe that’s the reason BMLG decided to go that route? Idk

“Take It Slow” is a smash. Sounds like early Sam Hunt. That chorus is so infectious. I’m okay with either that one of “I Hate Alabama”, even if Alabama is more original. Smart decision to pull plug on “Learn From It” - didn’t see that one breaking him out. Would have been 50 weeks to peak but not create much buzz.

Interesting they're pivoting to "Take It Slow". I feel like that sounds less like a hit than this does, lol. I'll support a Ryan Hurd penned song where I can though.
He dropped a 2022 mix of this a few months ago, so I thought this would get a bigger push. This one is growing on me a bit. Gives me early Sam Hunt vibes ("Raised on It" specifically).
I still think "Didn't Go Too Far" is the star of the EP and felt like the obvious single to me. "I Hate Alabama" feels too gimmicky for me to see it becoming a big hit IMO.

Take it slow is a jam. That will be a big hit.
