Tove Lo – Dirt Femme

A great album. I'm To Blame is the one i skip, it ruins the mood of the album.

Other than the fact that the big hole in the center of the CD case is between Tove's legs (one thing Tove is NOT? Subtle!) there is no incentive to buy the physical release of this. A cheap little booklet at least is always welcome, but whatever, music first. Also, she is independent now, so I don't mind paying $12 bucks just to have a physical copy of this. As for the album:

1. Call On Me (An absolute smash. In a perfect world, this would DOMINATE radio.)
2. 2 Die 4 (OMG, this song! WHAT a FUUUUCKING BANGER! Though, it sounds like she says drink your wad at midnight, LOL. I'm like I know she's not THAT nasty! But...would she go there? Of course, LOL.)
3. No One Dies From Love
4. How Long
5. True Romance (STUNNING. I didn't know she could sing like that, to be honest.)
6. Grapefruit (I hope Taylor jacked this sound for Midnights for at least one track.)
7. Cute & Cruel (This is a really nice sound for Tove.)
8. I'm To Blame
9. Pineapple Slice
10. Attention Whore
11. Suburbia
12. Kick In The Head

Immaculate production throughout. Her best album, which is also reflected in this album receiving her best critical score.

Agreed, it’s such a remarkable album and sound for her. While others are reinventing dance eras (Dua, Beyoncé, Drake), Tove is somewhere in the future.

At this point I don’t have a skip. Your bottom 3 are actually my repeats today. They also all took the longest for me to connect with.

Kick In The Head sonically is gorgeous and the lyrics on Suburbia hit hard talking about her marriage. Channel Tres verse on Attention Whore might be one of the sexiest :30 seconds I’ve heard this year.

Before Taylor drops next week, I have to say this is maybe my favorite pop album this year.

"Suburbia", "Kick in the Head", and "2 Die 4" are currently my top three. One thing Tove Lo has is a consistent sound. She tends to stick to a pretty similar soundscape for all of her albums and it's undeniably her. Fantastic album!

I went on a long hike the other day and put her five albums on shuffle. Legit not a terrible song to be found. Obviously not all tens, but I can't find a total loser in the bunch (and let's be real, all of our favs have those WTF tracks). She's managed to cultivate such an incredible discography.

Also, I don't know what the hell Channel Tres even looks like, but I'll have his babies just based on his voice.
