From a friend who works in radio:
"While Kelly has always been known for her ability to convey a wide range of emotions through her music, her upcoming divorce album promises to take listeners on an even more profound emotional journey. As she navigates the challenges of heartbreak, self-doubt, and ultimately, self-acceptance, Clarkson's powerful voice and authentic lyrics will likely resonate with those who have experienced similar struggles. However, it's not all heartache and sadness. Clarkson's innate resilience and strength are also evident in her new music. As she moves through the stages of loss and healing, she emerges as a stronger and more empowered individual, embracing her independence and newfound self-worth. This message of hope and perseverance is sure to inspire listeners, reminding them that even in the darkest times, there is always a way forward."

I'm so hyped for this album! I still want to know what genre, (pop, rock, pop/rock or rock/pop?) but I'll be patient a little longer..

Granted, she said that months ago lol I believe she did say that years ago.. maybe on the billboard awards red carpet? Pretty sure the album went another direction after the divorce. To my knowledge, she hasn't commented on the sound of the album recently.

Am I the only one who still kind of wants a country album from her? Like I'll take more pop or pop/rock any day but country would be fun too.

I wouldn’t mind a country album that came out between major albums. We have waited far too long for this to be anything other than pure Kelly and I don’t think that is country right now.

I hope that the vibe is similar to that of Kellyoke EP. This is very exciting! For the first time we haven't heard ANY genre info and no 'it's pop, rock, dance, soulful, singer-songwriter and a bit of country'.
Personally, I'd love her to explore synth pop. 'Honestly' remains my favourite song sonically.

Its a natural progression from PxP, as if MOL had been a one-off album

The songs she does on the show will hold me over until it hopefully eventually happens, but even those have me wanting it sooner rather than later.

Makes me wonder if this is from some sort of press release-type statement the label has sent out or if it’s an account of someone who has heard the new music. Either way, I’m so ready!

I know almost every other fan here is jonesing for Breakaway meets Stronger and the return of our pop-rock queen, but you can't put something like this in my face and NOT expect me to immediately be up Kelly's butt begging for Breakaway meets MOL PLEASEEEEE I NEED IT. Y'all don't understand me!

I either want Kelly to go deeper into soul (as MOL remains unmatched as her best body of work) or more pop. Sorry, Breakaway stans, but that ain't it for me.

I need synths, drums, guitars, violins, vocals, and drama from this woman.

Its a natural progression from PxP, as if MOL had been a one-off album This is interesting and I think I have conflicting thoughts lol

I can’t even imagine what a “natural progression from PBP” even sounds like 8 years later but…I hope that’s wrong. Or at least not what I imagine.
I want the sound and vibe of Kellyoke or progression from MOL. Or full singer-songwriter meets lush Lana/Kacey vibes.

I want the sound and vibe of Kellyoke or progression from MOL. Or full singer-songwriter meets lush Lana/Kacey vibes. I really don't see Kelly treating MOL as a one off album. Didn't she say it was her favorite album of hers? Maybe it's possible that time of her life was difficult for her because I'm sure she and Brandon started having trouble around that time (maybe that's when they started seeing the marriage counselor?) but I don't see her just dropping the album altogether. She said for a really long time she wanted to release a little bit of everything sonically. We get the R&Bish album, I'm sure at some point we'll get another one. We'll probably get a country album at some point too. Not this album but someday. Not to mention, Whole Lotta Woman is her favorite song of hers of all time as has been demonstrated numerous times in performances and in interviews. No way she pays that song--or its parent album--dust anytime soon. I could see this album having the vibe of the Kellyoke EP, and I am here for it! I also hope we get more of her songwriting on this album. I'd love for her to pull a My December and write every song on this album.

Have you heard the album?

I mean.. the weak points of PxP were - Kelly's post pregnancy vocals - Kelly's limited involvement - Just like T and AIEW, it didn't really have a direction. It was kind of like a collection of songs.
Now we have - New vocal peak - Kelly's full attention and - an actual art project with a direction
Those coupled with a sound similar to PxP can result in the spectacular we are all dying for!
While PxP is not my favourite project of hers, the genre was not the issue.
