Is this the first “beak up” Christmas song? "Christmases When You Were Mine" by Taylor Swift comes to mind, although that's a ballad.

I like CIC. So fun and so clever; exactly what I was hoping she'd deliver! Is this the first “beak up” Christmas song? "Christmases When You Were Mine" by Taylor Swift comes to mind, although that's a ballad. Coldplay's "Christmas Lights" might also fit the bill. It's more subtle though. and Tamar Braxton's "She Can Have You". Also a ballad.

Wham's Last Christmas could also be considered a break-up/moving on from a failed relationship christmas song.

This might make me super basic, but I'm completely stoked for Kelly's version of Last Christmas. Any guesses on what Kelly's interpretation could be like?!

^im guessing a slow broken down... maybe even jazz inspired version. Based on absolutely nothing.

So, do we think that the lyric, “Underneath that mistletoe you’ve been so bad” is simply a reference to Under The Mistletoe? Or does it perhaps communicate something more insidious about Brandon being bad with who he has kissed under the mistletoe . . . ? Am I reaching here?

I picked on that line too right away, and I feel it's tea about Brandon. She probably went with it because it can easily be taken as just an inoffensive reference.

Is this the first “beak up” Christmas song? Bon Jovi's Please Come Home for Christmas Catherine McPhee's Not Christmas Without You Kacey Musgraves' Christmas Makes Me Cry Kacey Musgraves' Present Without a Bow Fantasia's The Snow is Falling (though she doesn't directly sing about a breakup) Sia's Snowman Jojo's Wishlist Nova Miller’s Red Dress Alessia Cara’s Make it to Christmas My Christmas music list is huge, so I'm sure there's more. There's also so many songs about longing for a loved one during the holiday season (not quite breakup), but being alone and missing someone or wanting to come home to someone.

I’m totally down for her doing some “KC classics” on her show.
Would love Let Me Down, I’m sure she’d kill it after her divorce.

So glad she performed “You Love Me”! Definitely one of my favourite deep cuts from her.

I'm so excited to hear Happier Than Ever but already know I'm gonna be bummed at how they edit it down to 1.5 mins.

My DREAM is for her to perform some of her unreleased songs on the show but I find it extremely unlikely that will happen.
I wanted to give some of my thoughts on CIC(JY) as well as the Christmas album as a whole. Firstly, I'm excited for it. And, I'm not as excited for it as I feel I should be. Wrapped in Red has left a legacy, and I firmly believe is objectively her best album to date. I realize it's weird for that to be a Christmas album, but the vocals, the production, the writing on the originals, all comes together nearly flawlessly. The one thing that falls short is the duets, but those are skippable deep cuts.
Christmas isn't canceled is...cute. I've avoided sharing my thoughts on the song because honestly I'm having a very lukewarm reaction to it. It's not "bad", but it's not something I think I will find myself revisiting every holiday season like almost everything off Wrapped in Red. I find the differences between the verses and the chorus to be rather jarring. It's like two completely different songs wrapped into one, and that is rather off-putting imo.
The tracklist makes me a little bit more excited, but I still can't help but feel disappointed that we are getting a Christmas album as opposed to a regular studio album. I was hoping this single would change my mind, but honestly, it's if anything made it even harder for me to accept we are getting a new Christmas album.
I will say, the last minute of the song where she's singing "Christmas isn't canceled" over and over again is probably the best part of the song, and really leaves it stuck in my head.

anybody know do Warner easy to cancel order?? i wanna buy that boxset now I checked this because I ordered the autographed CD before I realized the box set was also signed, and the website says you cannot cancel orders but can return the product for a refund once it’s been delivered. I’m just gonna give it to my mom since she still listens to CDs. yes they can cancel the order, also give you a discount code

Kelly Clarkson Shares the Inspiration Behind Her New Breakup Christmas Song and Holiday Album (Exclusive) ET ... My December being included 🤦♀️ Someone tried to decipher the lyrics to Merry Christmas Baby from the pictures on her website and if they're anywhere close to what they made out, it's Never Again 2.0. There's no beating around the bush with that one. 😬

First line is likely "You let flowers say I love you" and the ? later on could be "plane".

Ouch, she's coming for blood. Can they remove the "(Brandon's song)" from Winter Dreams and add it to Merry Christmas Baby? EDIT: Also, please, let this be a sassy uptempo!

I am somewhat okay with the 'twist' because it doesn't influence the next actual non-xmas album. This project will probably be a nice transition from MOL to KC8.
CIC(JU) is okay. For album listens cute, but I don't see myself seeking it out as of now.
What I am very unhappy about are the lyrics. She has been putting a lot of emphasis on the songwriting process and then gives us a Heartbeat Song quality song. After all these years I expected MD-quality lyrics even from this project, but let's see about the rest before I manifest my opinion.

She has been putting a lot of emphasis on the songwriting process and then gives us a Heartbeat Song quality song. After all these years I expected MD-quality lyrics even from this project, but let's see about the rest before I manifest my opinion. ...but, the lyrics are sort of the only notable thing about it? Other than it being cute and my enjoying it, as I say - but the lyrics are by far the feistiest and most playful than she's had in a long time. Some great call backs, and word play. Even the title harks back to her more memorable or cheeky, like Since U Been Gone/Behind These Hazel Eyes/Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You). The lyrics to Christmas Isn't Cancelled (Just You) are confessional, while also being playful, and threading the needle of being empowering/serving as a reclamation whilst even being jolly. Furthermore, you've said this as new lyrics have emerged, giving further signs of Kelly's pen of old making a return. "What I got you for Christmas is losing me, Merry Christmas baby"/"...and lies, and you can keep your wandering hands and eyes, so have a Merry Christmas - hope it's half as cold as you"? These are honest, cutting lyrics of precisely the type your wistfully pining for. - Is this the first “beak up” Christmas song? Bon Jovi's Please Come Home for Christmas Catherine McPhee's Not Christmas Without You Kacey Musgraves' Christmas Makes Me Cry Kacey Musgraves' Present Without a Bow Fantasia's The Snow is Falling (though she doesn't directly sing about a breakup) Sia's Snowman Jojo's Wishlist Nova Miller’s Red Dress Alessia Cara’s Make it to Christmas Catherine identifies as Katharine.
