That BTS song isn't even considered the best BTS song by their own fanbase...

"DNA" certainly isn't known in general in the U.S., which was more of my point. A case can be made for "Fake Love" being their first big mark here, but I feel like "Dynamite" was the first one a lot of people might actually know. That's why if any song of theirs was going to be on this list, it made sense to me it was that one. The reality is it won't be on any future editions of this list, though.

Doesn't that just show how flawed, Westernized, and committee driven this sham of a list is? Ever since the breakout of K-Pop in 2016, instead of doing the research and at least going with a fan favorite or a song that put them on the map - something that was uniquely BTS, they went with the song in English made explicitly to cater to American audiences. It just comes across as Asian-baiting and not even particularly clever baiting at that.

The list was compiled by having artists, writers, etc submit lists of their top 50 songs. Of course in a general sense that is going to favor songs that are better known than others. I don't think it was 'Asian-baiting' as that would mean a lot of these people - who likely didn't even know who was voting - somehow got together behind the scenes and decided to promote a BTS song. I think it's more likely that voting was done not too long after "Dynamite" impacted, and therefore it was fresh on some minds when voting took place.

We really believe a grown adult was thinking let me put "Dynamite" on a top 50 greatest songs ever list....
It's even more of a bizarre choice when you realize Blinding Lights, The Box, Don't Start Now, Adore You, etc were also 2020 smashes and those choices wouldn't necessarily look so out of place if you were going to include a big 2020 mainstream hit on the list. They were well received and will probably be remembered/age very nicely in retrospect.
Savage is also going to probably age badly. Doesn't help Megan has released the song 8 more times after. Beyonce again just skating by off her name with critics.
Too much pandering with the 2020 picks.

IDK, Maybe it's bad of me to expect a songs of the best songs OF ALL TIME to look at what was released before 2020
