Payola is a major issue that the Music Industry has been facing for decades now, I find it ridiculous how this practice hasnβt stop happening yet and I would like to see some real changes within the Music Industry when it comes to this Issue. When it comes to Radio specifically you have Formats such as Country and Latin that obviously have many songs that are able to climb all the way to #1 on those Formats only because of the Payola that helped them get there and not because they got there organically as many of you Know.
I am honestly not sure if this kind of practice within the Music Industry is ever actually going to stop being a thing.

Devil Marlena Nylund The evidence is pretty darn obvious, I am going to just show you this video since this pretty much proves my point that Payola is very much a real thing and not fake like you seem to think that it is.

I didnβt say it was fake. I asked for evidence to help with the discussion you wanted to have. Starting with this video might have been helpful. Starting with assumptions on people who ask for more information might not be helpful.

in one way or another, payola (or what many refer to as "payola") will always exist in the industry so long as we need 3rd parties to access music, whether it's radio, a streaming platform, or whatever else. even though payola itself is illegal, there are loopholes around it. advertising, promoting, networking, and throwing money at your problems are typical of most, if not all, industries.

Yes and no.
When radio gets to a point where it is no longer needed then ofc it will go away.
But as long as radio is a thing payola will always continue. Its been around since the 50s.

Payola on streaming playlists is a thing. Wow! I didn't know that! Do you know of any ways payloa has been used in streaming...I can think of three instances that might count...in that case I don't think Payola will ever stop.

The labels pay for playlist placements on Spotify & Apple music. It's technically not payola because they aren't buying streams, but by paying for high placements in big playlists, they are guaranteed to get a higher number of streams.

Which is basically the same as Google Adwords. Paying to list your website high in the search engines. Same thing.
