2/2. This is another great one from them, another jam. This one seems more accessible than "Chaise Longue", even if it does not have a riff as great as that song.

Sexy title , but not as horny as "Chaise Longue". She actually has good vocals when not singing in that emotionless tone. This on is short ,and bops to the point, and sounds A lot more than something I would chart.

Just heard this on Audacy's New Arrivals program, and they censored "wet dream" from the lyrics. Probably not going to be a radio single lol.

What did they change it to? "hott steam" , "leg cream"  I remember when the censore wusses changed George Michael's "I Want Your Sex" line to "I Want Your Love". Didn't stop that song from going top 10. |

CNM has the US alternative lyric version. They keep "wet dream" but change "touching yourself" to "you with yourself".

Hallelujah! This is much more radio-friendly (in spite of the lyrical content) than their other recent songs and attendant videos.
As for Doc's comment about I Want Your Sex, the radio station I was interning at at the time fully refused to play it at all. They added everything as soon as it made the R&R Top 40, and played it until it fell out; it seemed like they were being proactive to the listener, because AT40 and Rick Dees would be so far behind waiting for the charts to be published before they could record their shows. When songs fell out of the Top 40, they would rest them for 6 months, and then put them into their "recurrent" rotation for two years before taking them off entirely. (So obviously very current/recent oriented!). But anyway, the General Manager was quite offended by Sex, and a big line was literally drawn through it on their copy of the Top 40 chart every week!

AllAccess has posted the "US Alternative Lyric Version"; what??? If "I Touch Myself" can go Top 5 in 1991, who thought this was needed 31 years later? And don't forget Madonna's "...nothin' like a good spanky" around that same time too. And the "alternative" lyrics aren't very good in the context of their second use either... Perhaps it was requested by Audacy for a future you-know-what?

What the hell is a "US Alternative Lyric Version"? What are they singing about in this one? F U C K in Lobsters? Nothing pisses me off ore than censorship. Maybe I'm too desensitized so can someone please point out what lyrics today's sesetive listeners would find offensive.

The repetition of "touching yourself" is the main thing keeping me from liking this song, but I don't think changing the lyric that's repeated is the solution. Should just trim down the repetition.

I still don't get why they didn't push "Angelica" over this. It also has the hooks and the lyrics are less of the novelty type like this and "Chaise Longue", as much as I love the singles from the album. I'm going to link the song here, because it's my 2nd favorite behind Chaise. This album is so f**king good. Any updates on this? It's at around 80 spins on alt. |
