LOVE LOVE LOVE this.
Over the moon - the video is fantastic. Love the conversational aspect, it really works.
Dolly sounds wonderful, I was nervous how this would sound - but it’s really something special. Glad we have this now, and I can’t believe this is their first recorded duet. Like, how!?

Dolly ruined the song 😭😭😭😭 Lol wut?! Dolly turns everything into gold, and she turns anything that was already gold into diamonds. That’s the case here. It’s so damn good to have Reba and Dolly on record together, FINALLY!!! I have waited for this since I first stumbled onto the CMT Giants special online as a kid, and Dolly made Reba get up on stage and sing “How Blue” with her. I absolutely love this new version of “Does He Love You,” it’s absolutely a highlight from this entire three-disc set. They just sound PHENOMENAL together; it gave me chills last night.

While I won't go so far as to say Dolly ruins the song, I don't think her and Reba sound as great together as everyone else does. Mainly because both their vocal styles feel very different imo and there is like no harmony from when I have heard the song. I will also say I was never a huge fan of "Does He Love You" even the original, never hated it just never loved it.
Also, I am just gonna say this no one is immune from criticism and that includes Dolly Parton and Reba so if someone doesn't like the song or thinks Dolly ruined it, that's a fair and legit take. They shouldn't be pretty much implied that they are wrong for giving their opinion on a song.

Absolutely love the music video. Neither one of these women have aged a minute. The conversational aspect really works, and that ending was fun! I loved Dolly's reference to the ending of the original music video.

I love the video! As with most things, it's not as good as the original BUT the more I listen to it, the more I like it! Upon 1st hearing it, I just didn't think Dolly's voice was loud enough & wasn't sure I liked her interpretation of the song. I've thought of the song as BOTH singers being somewhat angry & fighting for their man. However after watching the video, I see it as, since Dolly's the mistress she's trying to be a little more calm & reserved in the situation so hopefully Reba doesn't possibly choke her in the bar! lol I hope radio gives it a chance. How cool would it be for both of them to get a #1 with this & extend their TIED RECORD of #1's for a Female Artist?!

Wait! How did I already see the video if it isn’t “out” yet? I saw it on Facebook already… weird It's something artists do now sometimes where they put the video exclusively on FB before it premieres on YT. Personally I think it's dumb though, because YT is still where it's at for videos, so putting it as an exclusive on FB for any length of time is just a waste.

Also to actually give my thoughts on the song/video...
Song: I get that the original is a total "moment" and one of her signature hits, so any kind of remake decades later was bound to feel at least a little odd. That said, I love the remake and think Dolly Parton sounds amazing on this alongside Reba. I like the OG but it's never been a favorite of mine in Reba's catalog, so perhaps that's why I'm not let down in any way by this new version. In fact, I'd likely find myself listening to the Dolly rendition as much or maybe more than the Linda Davis one because she never really did it for me as vocalist on her own. She did a capable job of being Reba's partner, but Dolly is actually more on Reba's level. It would be like if Carrie Underwood remade "What Can I Say" with someone more relevant (not a perfect example tho since her's remained an album cut, but you get that idea). Anyway, I love it.
Video: Give Reba the Oscar for her performance in this, lol. She was SERVING. Reba and Dolly side-by-side here was just perfection throughout and the chemistry couldn't have been better. They both channeled their personality into these roles well. Fantastic video.

I love this take on this song. Dolly and Reba sound great together and compliment one another a lot. Haven't had a chance to watch the video yet but will soon. This is also a great reminder of why Reba needs to do Duets 2!!!

I'm struggling on this, because I really enjoy the song and I think Reba and Dolly's voice are such a nice contrast in a way that actually complement each other really nice! I'm just having a hard time liking their harmonies. While I think their voices complement one another, I can't say the same when they're both singing at the same time.
Still going on my plalists!

Did this have a deal? It entered the top 50 on MB today with a huge bullet but the audience total seems low for a deal so... not sure what's happening here. Would anyone here know?

That would explain the low audience numbers.

I really, really like this. I was initially a little hesitant about this because, as much as I have wanted a Reba/Dolly duet, the original is such a classic. I can't say I like this one more or less than the original because they are so different. They work really nicely as companion pieces though. I'm loving the early airplay this one is getting. I'm sure that its ceiling amount of spins/AI will be hit quickly, but I'd love to see it at least chart for a few weeks.

With the #49 debut of Does He Love You, it gives Dolly Parton chart appearances in seven consecutive decades (1960s-2020s) and Reba McEntire in six (1970s-2020s).

Love the original with Linda Davis, love the revisited version with Dolly, love Patti LaBelle's cover too. Liza Minnelli and Donna Summer recorded this as a duet too...

Oh wow, I never expected this would get any airplay let alone chart. Even if it falls off next week, the fact it debuted at all is so awesome to see.

It's nice enough. Dolly is fantastic, though not sure her voice works quite as well for this song compared to Linda Davis. Not an official single, according to this Billboard article. I thought audience-based charts now were on a Friday-Thursday cycle, though as this is a genre chart, probably not the case. www.billboard.com/articles/business/chart-beat/9643931/reba-mcentire-dolly-parton-country-airplay/Reba McEntire Returns to Country Airplay Chart With Dolly Parton: 'It's a Dream Come True to Finally Record With Her'By Jim Asker 10/12/2021 Reba McEntire and Dolly Parton's "Does He Love You" debuts at No. 49 on Billboard's Country Airplay chart (dated Oct. 16) with 1.1 million audience impressions through Oct. 10, according to MRC Data, after it was sent to radio Oct. 8. The original version of the ballad by McEntire and Linda Davis ruled Country Airplay for a week in November 1993, becoming McEntire's fifth of 11 No. 1s. It's the lone leader for Davis, the mother of Hillary Scott of Lady A (whose "Like a Lady" bullets at its No. 14 high on the latest list). McEntire and Parton's new take on "Love," which was produced by Dave Cobb (and written by Sandy Knox and Billy Stritch), is from McEntire's new triple-album, Revived Remixed Revisited, released Oct. 8 and due on next week's, Oct. 23-dated charts. "I'm thrilled with how this new version of 'Does He Love You' with Dolly turned out," McEntire tells Billboard. "It's a dream come true for me to have finally had the chance to record something with her and then to see the reaction to it, and the video has just been icing on the cake. I can't believe it's taken this long to finally get together, but I sure am glad we did." Referencing two of the legends' classic songs, McEntire muses, "Jolene and Fancy would be proud!" Katie Dean, MCA Nashville senior vp of promotion, explains that, "While [the song is] not an official single, we formulated a plan for maximum radio exposure on 'Does He Love You' to spotlight the release of Revived, Remixed and Revisited with the additional goal of charting the song. Because it landed at radio on Friday, we had a very specific list of targets that were essential to our airplay goal. Reba went to work alongside the MCA promotion team by doing a few key interviews, and our partners at country radio stepped up in a huge way for these two country icons." McEntire and Parton add their 72nd and 27th respective Country Airplay entries, dating to the chart's January 1990 inception, and each have now appeared on the ranking in '90s, 2000s, '10s and '20s. McEntire boasts the most appearances among women, and the seventh-most overall. Next up among female artists are Martina McBride (56), Trisha Yearwood (51), Faith Hill (48) and Carrie Underwood (46).

I thought audience-based charts now were on a Friday-Thursday cycle, though as this is a genre chart, probably not the case. Yes. The airplay audience counted for Hot 100 is now on a Friday-Thursday cycle to align with other components, but the genre airplay is still on a Monday-Sunday cycle (that's the most up-to-date time point Billboard can do, since chart news is on Mondays normally).

^Thanks for the clarification/confirmation. As the Country Airplay chart ranks titles by audience, I was a little confused at first when the article said through Oct. 10. Billboard doesn't publish a country airplay chart ranking titles by spins, whereas it does other genres (Mainstream R&B Hip-Hop and Adult R&B, for instance- though as country doesn't break down into subgenres, that could be a reason for lack of that chart).
