Something like “I Hope You Miss Me” (or a re release of “Don’t Let Her) would’ve been huge. Idk, maybe this will be but it’s not grabbing me off first listen

I actually like this now that I know the concept behind the song. I heard a clip the other day of just the chorus and didn't understand the connection to AA, but I get the "life is hard and I'm trying not to let that make me an alcoholic" idea now. Not sure how the "Down in Alabama where they love Nick Saban" adds to the alcoholism though since they are the winningest team in college football in the past 20 or so years. It would make sense if Walker were a fan of another SEC football team but a Google search indicates that he's a Bama fan. Which is unfortunate.
If this actually hits though, I'd definitely throw "I Hope You Miss Me" to radio (or something else on the album that's in a similar vein). I wish "Don't Let Her" made the album because it's my favorite thing he's ever done, easily. I still think that should've been a huge hit.

Not bad, I don't love his vocal at chorus, but may grow on me.
Wish he tried Briefcase or I Hope You Miss Me, but still glad he didn't go with something like U GURL.

I actually really love this (shocker). The production on the chorus is louder than I wanted, but this does sound like a hit to me, and isn't any further from country than HARDY, etc. I think this has a chance, and I hope it does at least decently well so he continues to have some more exposure. I can see this being a crowd favorite at his shows, and that energy may carry it to be a hit.

This is a bop. Love it! Considering he's from Alabama, I think the line is more about him being in Alabama trying to write songs for country radio and the namecheck of Nick Saban is there for color not as another reason why he's tempted by alcohol. 'Saban' also worked as slant rhyme for 'Station' so I'm sure that was the reasoning more specifically.

The best thing I can say about this song is that it stands out. But beyond I find his music to be garbage including this song.
Like I am so lost on the appeal of Walker Hayes and why his music is now so popular, I guess it is because it stands out but it is just not for me.

Debut at #58 on Billboard's Country Airplay chart, one week before impact. Also this is going to outsell Fancy Like soon.

Going into my playlist now. I think the chorus melody and production is effectively delivering the funny lyrics. Good to see that it had a great start on the chart.

I think he’s had better singles, but I will be ecstatic if this turns out to be another hit for him. It really looked for the longest time like he’d already peaked with “You Broke Up with Me,” but looks like he may be around for a while.

Most added song with 48 adds on add week and 60 total stations. Also in this songs second week it sets a new peak of #44 on Billboard.

It's nice to see "AA" taking off so quickly. It wouldn't have surprised me at all to see country radio just commit to playing "Fancy Like" as a recurrent hit and ignore future releases from him, but I'm glad that's not the case, because everything about Walker's path to success over the past year has been really interesting to watch and even if he isn't a favorite artist of mine by any stretch, it's hard not to root for him as he seems so genuine and humble. Plus, I am loving this song and think it's even better than "Fancy Like."

Very happy to see glimpses of his success with FL not being a flash in the pan. He's dropped more than a fair share of duds but, with the right team in the studio, he can definitely churn out some catchy tunes and he does seem like a genuinely likeable person which makes it easier to root for him!

Weirdly, "U Gurl" appears to still be rising, is now #8 on the Bubbling Under.

It's frustrating me how much i like this. Structurally, this is actually way more country than "Fancy Like", and frankly a good country song at that. I just wish Walker made even the slightest effort to making the song sound country. Then I could do more than just hate listen and be annoyed when the song gets stuck in my head.

I wish this song was sped up a bit more. It’s catchy but the chorus just kinda drags for me, tempo wise. Like “Mind Candy”

Didn’t he have a song called “Pants” that made the top 40 on country Airplay?

This is Top 40 already on Billboard after just three weeks on the chart and one week after impacting, I think it’s going to hit.

It does look like this song is gonna temporarily dip out of the Top 30 on Billboard after making it last week (main reason is due to not being on as many stations so it can't quite gain as much this week as the songs around it (singles from Tim McGraw, Lauren Alaina, Dan + Shay, and Taylor Swift all have more stations than "AA" so they should be outgaining it this week). But I do agree with austin that this is absolutely smashing as being Top 30 after 5 weeks on the chart is a FANTASTIC pace for this song.

I actually prefer this over Fancy Like. I despised Fancy Like, but AA is so damn catchy that it cannot be ignored.
