Artist: Chayce Beckham & Lindsay Ell Single: Can't Do Without Me Album: TBA Label: Wheelhouse/Stoney Creek Impact Date: December 13th, 2021 (AllAccess) Writers: Jordan Walker, Michael Carter & Trannie Anderson
Let's add another collab to the chart. This time from most recent American Idol winner and it is his debut radio single (23 did not impact any genre radio as far as I know). Looks like he is signed to Wheelhouse Records too. Release date is TBA.

I was wondering where he’d end up, I could see him and Lindsay sounding great together!

Well it's a upbeat minor key (I think?) country-rock song so I guess some will be a fan of this.

Wow, this song actually sounds like a hot. Chayce just might have some serious success in the format.

Solid song! The melody is fine, but the rock production suits really well with Chayce's voice, which makes the harmony with Lindsay, whose voice also goes well with rock production, quite powerful.
Still makes me wonder where Lindsay is going for her next solo project, as she hasn't released any solo music since her last single good on you, while she had some other collaborations with Cassadee Pope or Kaylee Bell.

This guy won American Idol? Lol, I would think that was a joke if I didn't know better. He certainly is one of their weakest winners to date vocally if that's the case, because he does not turn in a particularly strong vocal here. Lindsay Ell sounds fantastic though and carries it quite a bit. The song itself is also pretty catchy melodically, and while I don't love it the way I have most of the big duet singles that have come out in recent history, it's decent enough. I wouldn't mind if this became a hit simply for Lindsay's sake so she can continue to score hits in some capacity, even if it's not the way she should be getting them.

I was unimpressed by this dude's voice but the song is really good, Lindsay is just such an incredible vocalist and the song is extremely strong melodically and production-wise.

He was Idol's worst winner in a while, but I don't begrudge him any success he can manage. He does blend in as any filler country male artist--so many of them sound the same to me these days. Lindsay Ell always sounds better than whoever she's singing with, lol.
He'd join Gabby Barrett and Scotty McCreery in being another one I didn't care for managing to make it. Kellie Pickler, Carrie, and Casey James were the only ones I liked who had success (however brief). I'd much rather any of Laci Kaye Booth, Laine Hardy, Dillon James, Arthur Gunn, or Jessica Meuse were successful as far as their recent country contestants go. :/ I never really expected it for Kree because her soulful Trisha-esque vocals just aren't in line with modern country, but if Chris Stapleton gets so much attention...

Make a lot of sense that this was a song for Jason Aldean considering the horniness within.

I actually see American Idol producing another viable country artist. I don't know if I see STAR potential in Chayce yet but I think he is off to a great start. He's been touring since he left the show (touring with Kolton Moore and The Clevr Crew now, Luke Combs Canada tour then tour w. Jimmie Allen with solo dates sprinkled in), self penned coronation single over 20 million spotify streams with no radioplay and this song seems to be getting steady adds. I'm really interested in seeing whether he goes with an EP or an album especially with the new season of Amercan IDol airing soon with possible opportunities for televised promotion. The timing is pretty on point with his launch TBH without completly letting the Idol hype die.

This got added to the Hot Country playlist tonight which is a GREAT sign for this song (still waiting for Damn Strait to get on this playlist). I really see this song doing well not only over here but in Canada as Lindsay Ell is pretty much an A lister there. He's also touring with Luke Combs up there later this year so it could definitely be a great year for him up there. With a new season of American Idol coming in the next weeks too I wonder if he'll get some type of promo from the show which would be amazing timing as this single is rising on the charts. I actually think American Idol may get another viable country artist to brag about.
Edit: His song 23 also just went over 23 million streams and 1 million monthly listeners on Spotify today so that's impressive as well.

Debuts at #60 on Billboard this week on Country Airplay this week. I do hope this can be a hit since I love Lindsay Ell but this song has been off to a very underwhelming start since the new year.

Some consistencies so far at least in his music is that his songs have a autobiographical feel/sound to them and his voice is distinct enough to cut through country radio but the new song is so-so to me. Nice album cut IMO.

Meh. Both these songs are pretty generic. The problem is that he really isn't a Country singer. He was reluctant to be put into that genre when he was on American Idol.

This got a little boost from his idol appearance tonight to 127 on country iTunes (and his buzz single ‘23’ is at 65). I’m impressed with how he’s slowly finding his lane in the format and I wouldn’t be surprised to see this be a top 20 hit on radio here and possibly even bigger up in Canada due to Lindsay Ell and his upcoming dates with Luke Combs there this fall.It seems to finally be solidly in the top 60 on billboard now and still growing while he’s steady touring, single on Spotify Hot Country and has potential televised promo opportunities now that idol is in season. I wish some other artists got this seemingly smooth kind of rollout he’s getting.

This recently debuted in the media base top 50. I’m not sure if this will be a high impacting single for him but I have a feeling that this will at least hit the top 20. This is streaming well for it’s spins, Chayce just signed new management and currently he’s one of the, if not the highest priorities at Wheelhouse (though definitely not the highest priority on Stoney Creek). Wouldn’t even be surprised to see him perform this on the American Idol finale in a couple weeks giving him a solid boost. His EP was A LOT better than I expected and kinda turned me into a fan tbh. I dig his kind of country/rock/Americana sound.

Doesn't take a lot at the bottom of the chart since audience levels are so close together, but this one had a pretty solid gain this week, which made it jump from #55 all the way up to a new peak of #47 on the BB Country Airplay chart.

He’s definitely starting to connected and he’s really starting to get himself out there opening for Jimmie Allen here and Like Combs in Canada. I could see this doing something in Canada as well if it’s hits here due to Lindsay Ell. Also she’s past due for another hit here tbh even if it’s another duet.
